While part of it is that she was passed out drunk, she was awake the other times. The only way she could have done this is she routinely left the baby for hours alone, and have done this several times already. I don't think the baby died just like that the first time left alone.

I agree, but as a prison guard, I would want all men to not have to cut their hair and shave, not just some of them; which would cause tension in the jails. Shaving and cutting hair is a very big issue, and those who don't comply are put into solitary confinement; so if only one group got to do this, there would understandably be some very angry inmates who very justly would say why not me, and then someone like myself would have to put them in solitary. This is a good way to start a riot.

Yes, it is discrimination, but as someone who worked as a prison guard, I would like to add some insight into this. State Prisons usually are finely tuned human machines that run 24/7. Lots of little details go into making this a smooth , non rioting, and least stressful place, and having a routine and sameness help a lot. Sad story: My oldest son (17 years ago) was born out of wedlock, and I was never married to the mother. I could not stop him from being circumcised when he was a toddler. I did everything I could, including talking with the doctor before he did it. I was called a control freak by the doctor. Anyway, they went ahead and did it. There was nothing legally I could do.

To be honest, this kind of attitude is one reason why the percentage men of men reporting rape is less than the percentage of women. If rape against a man cannot happen, then why report it ? Also, if a man has people with such attitudes in their support group, this diminishes the ability of the man to have the emotional courage to report the crime, especially when after being drunk.

Purely anecdotal and unverifiable from my small town, but there used to be a men's shelter ( that was not for the homeless ) but it shut down many years ago. The current town's female only shelter has an anti-male attitude and I would like to think that it contributed to its demise by deflecting funding for it.

Its my opinion that males and females do roughly the same amount of crime, across all categories, but a lot is underreported. There are many ways to sexually assault a person. Females will more often use a weapon to make up being shorter or weaker.
