Often when people are depressed they neglect proper hygiene. Is you place clean, tidy(ish), and smell nice? If not I'd work on that. Getting clean and organized will help with your mental health as well

Being muscular helps a ton with women. But it also helps with dealing with men. Often they'll respect you more straight off the bat. The saying "don't judge a book by its cover" exists because that's exactly what people do, judge your looks first, which sets the tone for your first interaction. They are not necessary but will absolutely help in all aspects of life. There is no downside to being muscular and fit
