I wrote a whole long response to this where I first was pushing for you to give her a chance. But then, I realized that she's NEW. There should be NO social faux-pas in the beginning. Most employees are on their best behavior at first, so if she's making these kinds of mistakes in the beginning, it's only going to get worse. Pay her for the labor she did, and look for a replacement.
