It doesn't look at sponsorships, and TV deals which bring in more money than just attendance from games. In addition it looks at total revenue from the games itself. The women have higher revenue because of the amount of games played. They have played 121 games since 2016 which is when the article uses for their time line. The usmnt has played 61.
