So, I’m unsure of your point and forgive me if I’m mistaken. Are you saying that using the term parenting implicitly refers to a mother and a father? The issue I took with the article is that it referred to the Single Parenting Allowance (name of the bill I presume) and then went on to ONLY use single mothers, implying that fathers are never single parents. As I said earlier, it’s less common but it happens and the willful ignorance is just reinforcing a negative stereotype

Apologies should have explained, yes this is an Australian Federal government matter reported by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, which is also government owned and technically supposed to be our last bastion of unbiased media.

Ah now I follow. Yeah, that argument would track for them if it didn’t explicitly say “mothers” multiple times throughout the article.

Nope, men don’t have issues. Get with the program my guy you’ve obviously been brought up in a 2 parent household with no substance abuse or general abuse issues with a full education paid for by your parents and had access to every opportunity imaginable. I know this, because you’re a straight white man. Now take your pink Ralph Lauren polo get back in daddy’s beemer and go back to talking finance at the local RM Williams watering hole. Lots of sarcasm, in case that wasn’t obvious.

If you argue with idiots they drag you to their level and beat you with experience. They’re asking you to convince them of your righteousness.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
