Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle?Hey, thanks for replying and doing so in a useful, non-condescending way. I think I understand what you're saying except for a few things. "Why should I be the navigator and not her?" Because your chromosomes contain X and Y, not XX. It's how we're built. That doesn't answer a question, you're just saying it's built into biology. Can you explain it further other than just saying, "You man, she woman. Therefore, you in charge." because that conclusion doesn't follow from the premises. "driver" wh… | /r/askTRP | 31/10/14 12:50 PM
What are the arguments for why this subreddit is so terrible?I'm going to stop this discussion now because it's going nowhere. I know you're going to count this as a victory, but it isn't, I'm bored and sick of you attacking me on a personal level and editing your comments after their posted without signifying that you did so, which goes against Reddiquette. OP asked what the arguments against TRP are. I obliged by telling him what I and much of Reddit think about TRP philosophy. Thanks for the downvotes and the shitty debate. | /r/askTRP | 30/10/14 09:09 PM
What are the arguments for why this subreddit is so terrible?I disagree with this because it implies that the goal of relationships and marriage and sex is children, which is not a universally held belief. It may be important for TRP, but to say it is what all men and all women want is incorrect. For example, I don't give a shit if my future wife could bear healthy children because I plan to adopt if I have kids at all. I am not alone in this feeling. It also implies that infertile women are by definition unattractive, since they cannot have their own bio… | /r/askTRP | 30/10/14 08:38 PM
What are the arguments for why this subreddit is so terrible? No, fat isn't healthy. I'm not talking about obesity, I'm talking about general overweightness. It's not healthy, but neither are many things. But let's forget about fat, let's go back to the original statement you had a problem with, "Beauty is not linked to health or the ability to raise children." Ugly people can be perfectly healthy. I would argue that Steve Buscemi is not attractive, but this has not had a negative impact on his health or his ability to father children. The same goes for an… | /r/askTRP | 30/10/14 08:23 PM
What are the arguments for why this subreddit is so terrible? No one said anything about crack heads or older women. We're talking about beauty, not age or addiction. Let's take overweightness, since TRP seems to generally think overweight women are unattractive. Overweight women have children all the time, so there's that premise out. Overweight women can also be healthy, if we're defining healthy in terms of eating habits and exercise. How is this possible? Say she ate poorly as a child and gained excess weight. In adulthood, she has improved her diet an… | /r/askTRP | 30/10/14 08:02 PM
What are the arguments for why this subreddit is so terrible?Could you point out where I'm being illogical? Because to me, your viewpoint seems illogical. EDIT: Thank you for editing in your problems with my viewpoint after I commented to make me look like an idiot, very big of you. | /r/askTRP | 30/10/14 07:44 PM
| -1 | What are the arguments for why this subreddit is so terrible? This "required reading" talks about how women are less mature than men. Since, in general, we can agree that maturity is better than immaturity for many reasons, we can conclude that this writer and the sub by extension of agreeing with it think that women are lesser than men. It is the definition of hypocrisy to demonize someone else's behavior and then to go out and do it yourself. The sub actively advocates promiscuity in men while simultaneously bashing promiscuity in women. Negging is emoti… | /r/askTRP | 30/10/14 07:40 PM |
What are the arguments for why this subreddit is so terrible?WARNING: Actual person who does not approve of TRP here (as in, the exact person OP is asking about). TRP is really anti-woman. Regarding women as lesser or unequal to men is misogynistic and sexist, equivalent to saying a black man is inferior to a white man. Expecting a woman to remain celibate before you but once you pursue her to begin relations with you almost immediately or risk being dumped is hypocritical. Along those lines, applauding and encouraging casual sex among men but disparaging… | /r/askTRP | 30/10/14 05:51 PM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle?Damn. Got something against bisexuals? | /r/askTRP | 30/10/14 01:47 AM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle? Why do you think that? Do you think women are incapable of any empathy at all? That they wouldn't first break up with a significant other before venturing on to another partner? And as a corollary question, do you think that every man would cheat on his significant other? | /r/askTRP | 30/10/14 12:22 AM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle?Wow. Okay, I guess my biggest question out of all of that is: Do you honestly believe that every woman WILL cheat on her significant other? Because this It makes sense that your girlfriend is wonderful and perfect and would NEVER cheat on you... until it happens makes me think that you do. Which, I'm sorry, but if you believe that you're just demonstrably wrong. | /r/askTRP | 29/10/14 11:52 PM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle?I don't agree with that. I think there are probably situations where it would make sense for one of us to be a deciding vote, but it sounds kind of awful to have to ALWAYS be one or the other. As a constant follower (passenger, whatever) you have no say. If I'm following you right, the "passenger" would get to voice their opinion, but ultimately it's the "driver" who decides things, and that would get pretty old pretty fast if it were me, so I wouldn't want to put someone I love in that position… | /r/askTRP | 29/10/14 11:12 PM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle? But she is equal. | /r/askTRP | 29/10/14 09:21 PM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle?I mean, she thinks I'm funny and smart and loving and fun to be around. So I'd have to become a moronic asshole for her to leave me? That makes sense; if she became a moronic asshole, I might leave her. | /r/askTRP | 29/10/14 09:20 PM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle? We were both virgins before each other, but not each other's first sexual encounters. She had been with 3 others before me, I'd been with 9. I think by TRP's standards, I'd be called a beta, but if I am then I really don't see what's so bad about it. I'm very happy and have a loving gf I trust completely. | /r/askTRP | 29/10/14 09:18 PM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle?I really am being genuine. We both love having sex with each other and both have about the same level of sex drive, so it works out this way for us. | /r/askTRP | 29/10/14 09:16 PM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle? This seems like the most rational answer on here. It just makes sense that someone would want to live in a positive environment, but I wonder what you think makes the positive environment? Like, what circumstances would have to arise for her to leave me for another man (or possibly a woman in her case)? | /r/askTRP | 29/10/14 09:01 PM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle?Well, we aren't actually interested in starting a family, so that's not really a thing for us. And what makes you think she's going to start cheating on me or break up with me? | /r/askTRP | 29/10/14 08:59 PM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle?Do you mean who initiates? We both initiate pretty equally. Do you mean whose on top? We take turns, but usually I am. | /r/askTRP | 29/10/14 08:41 PM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle?I guess I'm just not getting where either of us is leading the other. What's the endgame? Wouldn't we both be just trying to live our lives and raise our child in the manner we see best? Why is leading involved at all? You need to have a Driver (should be you) and the navigator/assistant/whatever (should be her). Why should I be the navigator and not her? What if she's smarter/better at managing things/wants to do it more than me? | /r/askTRP | 29/10/14 08:28 PM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle? We get at it probably 4 times a week on average, and we're both attractive people, me probably like a 7, her an 8 or 9. | /r/askTRP | 29/10/14 08:19 PM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle?is that a TRP thing? There was more to that question. | /r/askTRP | 29/10/14 08:12 PM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle? Those are the only options? I can't share authority with my future wife? Why not? | /r/askTRP | 29/10/14 08:09 PM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle?I guess. Can you answer why that one guy said I was a pussy for not wanting to be the patriarchal head of my future family? Was he just an asshole, or is that a TRP thing? | /r/askTRP | 29/10/14 07:35 PM
Could someone please explain how TRP theory is correct if it seems so against my own lifestyle?I have read the stuff in the sidebar. It didn't apply to me. There was the essay about women being at the same maturity level as a teenager, which did not ring true for me at all. The women I know are all very mature people, some more mature than I am. The sidebar has a lot of articles, but the articles seem false to me, so I was wondering if a someone could explain them better, perhaps? | /r/askTRP | 29/10/14 07:12 PM
