10	Should I ask for alimony You could ask for 2k per month for 2-3 years to help you with finances. I was divorced and received alimony for three years. I quit my job to raise our disabled newborn in 2018. Was a stay at home dad for five years and lived off wife’s income. Divorced in 2023. We came to an agreement and were amicable. We are very good friends now. Since you didn’t have children, you guys can totally split from one another and move on. Ask for money if you need it.
