Interesting. Pop psychology will always be divisive, so expect push back. Your initial point about the brain / neuro pathways can be flipped and underlines a core point about dread. Change up your behaviours / patterns / clothes / whatever and you stand out. As a tangent, anyone in marketing would benefit from reading Ed de Bono’s work on psychology and mechanisms of attention.

Last thing I’ll say. There is shades of moralizing - and ultimately I couldn’t give less of a fuck. Contempt for wives is fair game, sometimes they’re just not nice people. But OP shunning his kids for his mistakes is the antithesis of owning his shit. The paternity test is a solid example. He could grab a few strands of hair and peace of mind along the way. Instead he’s more concerned with posturing and showing the world he’s a big boi.
