I see, thanks for the clarification! Unfortunately, the Bible is very much open to interpretation nowadays with much more of it becoming much more distant from the practices and culture of our current day situation, though I believe it was left untouched as verses in the Bible because slave owners in the US could interpret it to include race as it is not specified in the Bible to exclude race. Though I suppose that comes with time and (for the most part in this case) stagnant text.

Thanks for your reply! As stated in other comments, it is true feminism is fragmented in ideology due to its dynamic definition (or vice versa). Feminism does, indeed, fall victim to the No True Scotsman Fallacy so long as the broad definition stays exactly that. Though I would like to point out that the KKK does take bible verses (KJV) such as Luke 12:47-48 and Ephesians 6:5, leading those part of the KKK to interpret 'slaves' as such: africans imported for cheap labor. In this case, there is n…

Ah, gotcha now. While I do believe racism is more rampant than we would like to believe, the KKK is too small to compare to a movement like feminism. Point taken, thanks for the clarification (probably my fault for not understanding in the first place, no worries).

As I said in another comment, I see the split of definitions of Feminism, ranging from including equality for all sexes and only advancing the cause of women. There definitely is an identity issue for the movement, and while I have been an egalitarian I have been really trying to put myself in the shoes of a feminist and it is too hard to keep track of a movement so divided in ideals. An issue for sure, and one that may lead me even further away from feminism. In short, point taken, thanks.

I totally get where you are coming from; however, I would like to point out that the first definition for Feminism in Merriam-Websters is "the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes." That being said, the definition being so broad as to include both (humorously conflicting) "equality of the sexes" and "for women" is due in part to the identity crisis feminism as a movement has currently. It truly is treacherous to even say you are a feminist these days as it holds ma…

Okay, how about this: Would a KKK member be Christian as they identify as Christian, using the words of God (interpreted and often taken out of context, but nonetheless) to justify their actions? If the answer is no, then the same hypothetical can be posed to the supposed feminists you know. Perhaps it is our location differences, but most feminists I know do not hold radical views and/or are closet feminists.

Because the KKK identifies as Christian, does a KKK member well-represent a Christian? Well, they must as they identify as Christian, abiding what they believe to be God's will and what aligns with their Christian values. While I love the Scotsman Fallacy, I really do not think it applies here as this is quite a gray issue. The problem with the feminist movement is that there are 'feminists' that have a different definition of what 'feminism' means. The feminist movement is one based around exti…
