You can do so, but for many this comes with pre vetted dates. I.E Someone you’ve seen at work, friend group, third space. Many men have switched to not taking online or “blind” dates because the well is too poisoned imo. Many guys want to see what you’re about now before wasting their time. This has inarguably changed, the well document “men checking out” phenomenon.

I agree but putting energy into dating has gotten highjacked into “only people without self respect apply”. The sentiment has tangibly made society worse imo, so maybe it’s time to change this sentiment.

I am in a good relationship too but simps are providing horrible incentive structures for modern dating. Not all commentary has to be some personal plight.

I don’t reject seduction from women doesn’t happen or never happened, my argument is in 2026 it’s an exception in dating culture. Men aren’t thirsting for mystery today in dating from women, they are desperate for confidence they aren’t being taken advantage of, I’d argue this sentiment is more skewed toward this than any point in human history. To both sides that is wild to the point of absurdity imo.

FWIW I don’t agree with OP but also disagree with you: “Both men and women like mystery” Could not be less true. What the fuck is a female seducer? Better watch out for the “female seducers” that might reach out and get you! You contradict yourself instantly after by saying women don’t chase- I.E seduce. “See plenty of men crying about how they fell for the wrong woman” Literally none of them would care much if marital law wasn’t overwhelmingly set up to favor women financially despite “being eq…

Just keep in mind there’s other groups of men. OP imo is weak and spends his whole life being something he’s not because he’s controlled by pussy.

The average man in 2026 understands women more than the average woman understands men. It’s not even relatively close. Of course in your world view, women can’t possibly be accountable for anything though.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/26 02:44 PM

I actually agree 100% but id argue many more men leave the structure than women due to a lot of reasons (mostly incentive). What youve described is Mgtow, or a large portion of it at least. Id also argue Patriarchy has very little to do with dating in 2025. If the U.S is in a Patriarchy right now, the definition of Patriarchy is so watered down it ceases to describe anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/25 05:25 AM

Patriarchy wasnt/isnt about men demanding respect and nobody really created it. Its was basically the most efficient way to run tribes in hunter/gather mode.

"See all the UMC men whining about the financial clock as they waste women's biological clock." This happens so much in gendered topics. One example is like the obvious one you see everyday, lets say my example is: "Women are very influenced by social media lifestyle status competing". Like I actually dont know what your example is as a man whos been on the internet since its inception. I think its safe to say one gender on this one topic has shown more proclivity. Its ok, really.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/25 05:06 AM

I dont think this works out long term. Many women get talked out of good men by their friends telling them "they can do better" etc. Like ANY friction (or just a better financial option) in that relationship and literally any person she knows is telling her to run.

I do think women can sometimes dream up a guy/qualities who are mutually exclusive thing A and mutually exclusive thing B that can never realistically exist in the same person due to some constraint.

As someone like this, its actually a pretty bad recipe optics wise. People simply dont believe you before its too late. Long term, like a workplace, it works out after someone has already tried to give the shit and you shut it down. People mistake your motivations or how you are a lot in the short term and the most important part of dating is the first date or two.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/25 03:59 AM

Its not actually irrelevant though. If we cant point to someone actually living this lifestyle, we probably have to ask why. Imo, some of these things are character contradictions. Being confident isnt built on taking Ls, its built on societies reactions to your successes. There are no men going to therapy while they are doing well stacking Ws, and id argue thats a good thing. Like yes you can point to things like this person lift weights but also reads books, but its very hard to point out a ve…

"Then why do so many men act like spoiled brats?" In relationships or online? Id argue it doesnt really happy in a relationship and it would end pretty quick if the other person has self respect. Online, people are bitching about the double standards they see irl. Instead of me guessing could you tell me which you tell me with an example, please? "What’s the point if guys clearly don’t think not being alone is not incentive enough?" I think the number 1 saying in mgtow etc is "juice isnt worth t…

I think the commentor above you has it backwards imo. The men that are hoeing arent the ones that care about the body count the vast majority of the time. There are just men that dont like casual hookup culture and while theres slight correlation to conservative values- its more just how they view sex, dating, marriage etc.

Issue is these complaints are a one sided and often a passing feeling. Some women will ALWAYS have new complaints if these get fixed, which very ironically, these new complaints will stem as a direct result as fixing the first complaint. Example: "Youre barely talking to me", next week "ugh, I need some space". Yes there is nuance but many times the "perfect nuance" is some arbitrary cutoffs she made in her head and wont tell you. Theres also another factor to this: Men never get rewarded with c…

I feel like every comment I make on gendered topics is the same now. The talk around the "male lonliness epidemic" is so misguided imo. The increasing rise of men being left out of dating through mainly (not limited to) increased use of social media (hypergamy + online fluidity + attention economy), worse financial economy for men, and social attitudes around what relationships are/should be in 2025. This isnt "lonliness" per se. It could lead to lonliness but thats not the root issue. In a hand…

I was talking about this irl recently with someone and remembered this conversation. The truth is you have very little agency in U.S dating as a man demanding split. I could do it, sure, and just accept 98% of women will end all communications after the date (regardless on how they actually feel about dating dynmics) because its beyond social norm atm. My way not only avoids a blowup, its been seen as a positive the vast % of the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/25 08:31 AM

You can reframe it. For example my move when the inevitable "check dance" happens is to say "I picked the venue and asked you to be my guest tonight, if youd like to go on another date ill let you host and let you treat me". I also say, it can even be free- you dont owe me anything. Thats really a win/win because you get to learn a lot about the person and how they see you pretty much instantly.

Responsibly in this case means seeing the outcomes of actions youre taking, having empathy for the people youre trying to date, understanding equality isnt shedding your roles and expecting traditional roles. In one word: reciprocity. I got a but off topic, ^ has nothing to do with approaching really.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/25 07:08 AM

I do believe dating dynamics will change and see some reciprocity return from women but were not there quite yet. Its going to take more men getting on board and a few generations of male relationship selecting for more equal partnerships. Gen Z stats are pretty wild and im guessing sentiment will start to shift. Imo, this is basically just feminism gave newfound agency women have never had in the past but society really hasnt taught women how to handle it responsibly.

Sure, its very very obvious that Tiktok selects for a certain subset. The new york times article said the same thing. Its a trending topic. Also stop thinking everything is ragebait. "Ragebait" literally doesnt do anything on low follower accounts. Its simply the new "I was only joking" when they get blown out in the comments. Theres also implications to "ragebaiting", like that defines your content type moving forward. Someone making dating content for two years isnt randomly making a ragebait …

Going out way more than men (look at the state of the club scene or speed dating), wave of tiktoks documenting how unhappy they are they dont have the man they want despite glancing at him and smiling (ya know, the "signs"), thirst trapping on IG, etc
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/25 05:53 AM

I think were finally starting to see dynamics so far out of whack that youre getting the "where are all the (good) men?" Tiktoks.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/25 05:47 AM

Fuck it, all men subscribe to "Manism" tomorrow where we reject our gender roles and we send society into full blown chaos. "Feminism is about liberating women from sex-based oppression, not equality. It does not necessitate the dissolution of gender roles, so there's no hypocrisy." This can literally be read as "were saying we do what we want and men have to pick up the pieces". What happens when men do the same back? Thats honestly where were headed.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/25 05:44 AM

I might hear more in person at a women dominated high end fashion job than I do online (but I dont frequent gendered subs). Id be curious if you hear it but dont actually parse it as misandry. Ive heard "I hate all men" more than a few times. The thing I hear the most constantly is basically when it comes to dating men = wallet. Whether its overhearing people saying they need a husband upgrade (context = more money) or literally anytime one of them is single they talk about finding a millionare …

Ok, I was about to make the same comment now I dont have to think about it. The only thing ill add is I think the brain chemistry to really want and dedicated to do this while also completely avoiding/solving the eventual motherhood window is just rare. If all of that comes together, its easier to stand out and societally encouraged to make a woman a ceo.

MANY men knew this or found out when online dating/e girls/ OF of the internet age become widespread post 2016 or so. This is why "simp" (as in dont do it) became a huge word in the culture. Id argue things have changed a little, but not enough.

Its like a chicken/egg scenario. You dont become publicly "red pill" or talk about it if you didnt struggle with dating. Much the same way people who just dont drink dont walk around telling you how many days they are sober but a former alcoholic would. Im not really red pill, but for this discussion- advice given more on the redpill side is more useful to actually secure dates compared to general blue pill which is basically no advice given.

How society sees the situation/understanding. Then prescriptive markers stem from that. "Why does it matter" is akin to the answer to why women were getting lobotomies for hysteria in previous generations.

I do too actually. Occasionally the women I take out will do the good mannered "offer to pay" dance. I always say something like: "Nah, I asked you out to this date- I got us covered. If youd like to go out on another date, im down to let you pick the venue/activity. You owe me nothing, it can even be a free date if youre down." This is win-win-win in my book. 1) it shows their interest, because a woman not solidly interested wont bother. 2) it shows their character and creativity 3) ill be char…

I think we all agree with this message. My point was: it feels like OPs message for dating specifically was to become an extrovert or mask until you fit in with extroverts. If you were actually confident, competant, and have boundries people respect- you can be yourself and connect with others. Yes you need some social outlet to meet new people but it certainly doesnt have to look like the traditional culture. Imo they are leaning into "the dating pool on the apps wont want you if you arent doin…

Ive noticed from your post and comment response that (imo) you have some sort of hang up / insecurity / heirarchical dynamic in you that believes performative social gestures are "good" and the absence of is "bad". Introverted and extroverted arent very concrete terms and everyone has their own definition so theres no point in squabbling. My point is if youre confident in who you are and what you want- acting on that is simply social intelligence. My wants of being around others most of the time…

Literally neither of you have met a truly introverted person?? The anxiety types are people with extroverted tendencies that lack social skill then get left alone. Introverted people are the ones that were more comfortable long term in covid lockdowns than normal life. Many exist, including me.

This is 100% true. People just like to otherize. Many men dont subscribe to some idealogy to notice that most relationships today are a pretty bad deal for men because despite feminism- many women still want traditional finances.
