Is it just me or did the girl reading the mag and the pre-med one seem to change quickly from kind of cold and not caring to interested in what he was saying? I'm not very experienced with this so it might just be normal.

Basically what he's saying is you should have either asked her out or stopped pursuing it completely. To be honest, I don't think commenting on the video in that way conveyed any real message and there's no way I could see her try to continue the conversation after "You heard me." And did all this take place right at the comment section or in private messages?
