I seem to remember some WWI vets not having a great time of it. There was a march on Washington and I think the army drove the crowd into the Potomac and burned the camps the protesters had setup behind them. You could probably say that was more of a Great Depression thing than a veteran thing, but it was over benefits related to their military service. Yeah :/. Mine was at Sam's Club. I've always thought their tire and battery service was pretty good. They even offer road hazard insurance. On one trip and (long story short) I ended up replacing all four tires in three different cities aaaand essentially got them for half price because they were only 7/10 worn.

Luckily there wasn't really any fuss getting it fixed. We went back to the shop, told them what happened, they said go get it fixed and bring them the receipt. Done and done. Still ate up some time though :/.

Just remember, in the name that is all good and holy, to start those lug nuts with your fingers. Both my brother and I have had to have lug nut studs replaced because someone at a tire shop didn't start them out with his fingers and ended up cross threading it. Keep up the good work!

Well, there's vinegar, salad dressings, (those aren't going to burn you, but still acids) car batteries, I think pool supply stores have acid to aid in keeping the pH of your pool correct, I believe you can do an acid wash on concrete, and I've used muriatic acid when patching grout. Now I don't really know how strong any of those more industrial acids are, but you generally want to not get it on your skin. I suppose we could start using bases instead, like Drano, or render your own lye at home.

Yeeeeeah but you still can't own land in Hawaii without being Hawaiian and there are "Hawaiian only beaches" (that's really a thing more enforced by the people at the beach than anything else.) Racism is around but maybe not quite as violent as your example.

Wasn't there a Hooters server case that did go to court? They ruled something like the servers were considered performers (or something) and they could therefore hire strictly women for that position as long as they didn't discriminate against men for the other jobs?

Please be more specific. 50% of what? In California I think the rule is that when the marriage breaks each party gets 50% of the assets that are community property. In Texas the court may decree "equitable distribution" which essentially means "whatever is ruled to be fair" so the distribution may not be 50/50. What happens largely depends on the state you're in. Some are community property states, some are not, some have different rules on alimony.

I remember hearing about a divorce case where the woman supported her husband through med school, then he graduated and found another woman. The agreement between the two had been that she would support him through med school, then he would support her through school. Judge ruled that he had to put her through college.

I believe he is saying that he should get 50% of the assets and no alimony. The term assets has a very different meaning than, income or wages.
