But they are. Virtually no straight married people “swing.” With gays it’s apparently very common to be monogamish. That’s why we homophobes didn’t want you guys to be able to get married in the first place — because you have no respect for the institution of marriage, and will cause it to lose its social meaning. The guy is trying to move on, which sometimes is the best thing. I can’t even express how liberating it felt to finally unfriend someone that I had an unrequited obsession with for years. It wasn’t out of bitterness— I wish her the best — but getting constantly updated on everything she was doing just made it impossible to move on. This woman doesn’t care about that, though, she just wants the attention.

For what it’s worth, I was told by a friend that works in a German prison that trying to escape isn’t illegal. Something about how it is human nature to want to be free or something. You can of course get subjected to more secure captivity or have privileges revoked for trying to escape, but you apparently don’t get more jail time. Though I admit I’m going solely on what my friend told me, who could be completely wrong.

No; even most of the serious Nazis did less than multiple decades. Only three of the defendants at Nuremberg (Hess, Speer, and von Schirach) served 20 years or more. Many individuals that committed very serious war crimes only served a few years (especially those prosecuted later by the German government, as opposed to those prosecuted by the Allies).
