No, don't couple heavy squats with heavy deads. Like you noticed, that shit will fry your body. There are some good workout plans for you to hit when this happens. Yea that's why I added in more upper body work. As long as the program hits the big three it will be good. Also bodybuilding and powerlifting have alot of crossovers. Stan efferding competes in both. BB needs strength based work as much as PL needs rep based and explosive work.

I have Trex arms and an old ankle injury. My ankle healed wrong and I lost a good bit of ROM. When it get heavy my ankle hurts. I've avoided sumo but its inevitable since my squat is a wider stance as well.

Get ready for some pain yo ! Taking a shit when you sore from squats is terrible. Depending on your squat (high or low bar) is going to dictate where you post form checks. If you do high bar, form check from the oly lifters. Low bar, form check from powerlifters; this includes the bench and dead. People going to laugh at you working with the bar but they won't be laughing when you rip 225 on the squat in a couple months.

Fyi if you do SL, incorporate more upper body. It is very lower body intensive. Keep with SL/SS it is a very good basics program. Then you van switch over to 5/3/1 with BBB.
