This is the modern version of "A Modest Proposal".

You shouldn't immediately dump her over it. You should talk to her about it, explain the position, your experience, and the trauma, and if she still remains apathetic and insensitive, tell her it's over. You cannot remain bonded to a sociopath.

Yeah, good luck. Sorry I'm of no help beyond the US. Still, maybe look up your local laws to determine what to do. Still, if you don't feel like a victim, and you don't view the act as predatory, I'm not sure a crime was really committed. In a purely logical sense of course.
/r/MensRights11/07/20 07:22 AM

Well, some states would declare the act void because while the 15 year old would be committing a form of fraud by knowingly concealing something from the other party that could potentially cause them to commit a crime, the 25 year would also be committing the crime of statutory rape, knowingly or unknowingly. It's hard to say without knowing the state.

Again, where you are determines the legality of it. Some states have what is called Romeo and Juliet Laws, whereby a legal adult can have a relationship with a minor so long as they were both minors when the relationship began and the age gap does not exceed four years. Some states do not have these exceptions, and so a person who is 18 can legally be charged for dating or having sex with a minor, even if they previously had a relationship when they were minors.

Depends on where you are, but usually an adult having intercourse with a minor is labeled rape of some kind. Probably statutory rape, but depending on the context (again, few details) it could be entirely acceptable.

So if the events were deemed non-sexual by the court, how could the father be charged with a criminal act for filming that act? How can he be charged with not intervening if the acts were declared not to be abuse? This makes zero sense. The judge clearly has a case of Schadenfreude.

It's pure insanity. Is there any way to appeal to a higher court or file for bankruptcy to get some leniency on the debt?

You have two options: stand and fight or let it go. If you stand and fight, use your words, citing logic and reason. Do not lose your temper. Do not raise your voice. Do not become cynical or be sarcastic. Record the incident, from what she said to trigger the disagreement to the point where any action is taken. Do not be belittled or allow yourself to backpedal. If you choose to let it go, you can use it as an example later for others. Some people see their grades as more important in the long …

I just watched this movie and noticed two really important things. The first being that I saw a lot of older men with their wives in the theatre. I actually overheard two of them saying (separately, to their respective wives) that they hadn't been to the cinema in years but just HAD to see this movie. The second is that the two main characters in this film are self made men. They pour actual blood, sweat, and tears into this project. They put their bodies, time, money, and livelihood into the bu…

It is still a willing negotiation between employer and employee when getting hired on. But we're getting into the hypothetical weeds here. My point, and Stefan's point, is that marriage is similar to being employed and thusly you a) agree to join voluntarily and b) no longer having that job is a reflection of choice (not necessarily the individual's choice directly) and c) that alimony is a direct reflection of both statism and selfish entitlement.
/r/MensRights29/09/19 01:40 PM

Yes but severance pay is agreed upon by employer amd employee, not forced by law. If force is involved, or threat of force, it can't be truly voluntary.

Stefan Molyneux pointed out quite succinctly that alimony is purely extortion because, in his own words, "if you quit your job or you get fired, they don't keep paying you." If you get divorced you either a) initiated the divorce ("quitting") or b) were informed that you were being divorced ("fired"). Alimony is a scam.

This is both an absolute miscarriage of justice by the judicial system and a violation of the 1st Amendment. In fact, the 1st Amendment was specifically in the minds of the Founding Fathers so one could criticize the government without fear of repercussions. He meets the criteria for the first amendment because what he is saying is a) not a threat against the physical well being of another and b) truthful in all intents.

The best thing you can do is to call out misandry where you see it. It can be small things like expressing dissent on Facebook when someone posts something sexist towards men (or at all, because sexism is bad in every form) or big, like donating to causes and trying to attend events that direly need female support of men. Whatever you can do to help, no matter the size of the task, if you see a need, fill a need. Just being there for some poor soul on r/SupportForTheAccused could begin to tip th…

Make a trimmer just for male genitals. I wanna manscape but neither razor nor trimmer is suited to the task. And a honest to goodness buttscratcher. I need a high quality one for ass only that can be sterilized if the need arises. Collapsible, maybe?

Interesting story: my older brother has a massive penis. (We shared a room most of my childhood, so seeing it wasn't really avoidable). He used to mock me relentlessly over being smaller than him. It took years to overcome that feeling of inadequacy, and still plays a role in some dysfunction today.

There are very glaring bits that no one seems to care about. Mr. Basic's wife DIVORCED him over this, and the prosecutor called him a predator, despite have zero evidence of her claims. It's clear that Caitlyn Gray has made this man's life a mere mockery of her own manipulative behavior. A million dollars seems a little light. What is the value of a marriage? What is the value of a reputation? What is the value of a mother, who needed your help?

Don't you know? We men are just ATM's. Our labor does not belong to us. It's for the "greater good" that we work long hours in dangerous conditions to have most of it stolen from us at gunpoint to give to the women we decided to share our hearts and homes with, all for the love of our children that were taken from us as well. They have public housing for the men who don't "pay their fair share" (best Bernie Sanders voice): it's called prison. Can't pay money to your ex? Let's put you in a place …

Now, listen to me very carefully. Do not, I repeat, do NOT, agree to meet with any police, detective, representative or other person about this unless you've consulted with your lawyer. If they call, don't give your name. Don't agree to come see them, meet with them at a secondary location, or in your own home. You have the legal right to refuse unless you're being arrested for the crime. Once you're arrested or detained, don't say a word or touch anything they give you.

Document the claims. Find every shred of evidence for the times and locations of the incidents (if any are given). Call a lawyer. Not tomorrow. Not after dinner. Not after that Game of Thrones episode. Now. Right now. Explain the situation, and you may be able to get ahead of this. A lawyer can have a cease and desist order issued if the claims are unsubstantiated or she does not report them to authorities. Then, if she doesn't cease and desist, you can get your lawyer to file a suit for defamat…

He mus not make any statements. At all. Ever. Not for or against himself. Every single prosecutor and detective will only use them against him. If he's made any statements, he'll need to recant. A lawyer would advise him the same, but he needs to know. Also, remind him to fight, tooth and nail. They'll come at him with some offers before a trial, and they'll seem nice because he's scared but he has to refuse and make sure he doesn't give in.

It's not just feminist. It's vegan feminist. Two things that just wrankle your nerves on a good day. The free market proved people did not like that combo. And the best part? Your values are no longer reciprocal. The relationship is doomed unless she decides to return to a place of rational comprehension. My advice would be to take marriage counseling. If counseling fails, then leave. Simply leave. Do not tell her where you will be going. All you need to tell her is the reasons you have left after you are safely elsewhere. Otherwise, do not engage her. Then initiate divorce proceedings. Hire a lawyer who is ready to fight tooth and nail for you, and not give in. Let …

She'll likely get let off on reduced charges at worst. Men can be killed with impunity in the United Kingdom, apparently. Being knifed to death is already heinous and violent without the knowledge that it can be done without remorse or repercussions. I'll be following this case closely. Hopefully, her sentence will reflect the atrocity she has committed.

What the actual (ACTUAL) shit is this?! This article details how this teacher gave marijuana to the student, engaged in sexual activity both at school and away from school, and sent 300 texts and had 700 calls. How is this not grooming? How is this not resulting in rape charges, along with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, exploitation of a minor, and sexual assault by an authority figure. But no. Literally none of that happened. If this were atypical, it would be outrageous. The fact …

Drunken roommate (female) would constantly hit on me, making lewd suggestions. One night she was so drunk, she fell on the floor. I helped her off the floor and rolled her onto her bed, where she kept trying to grab my junk. Another time she grabbed my wrists and insisted we have sex. I told her no, and she said, "Scream rape. Do it. I dare you to do it." I was incredibly frightened because physically, I could have just pushed her away, but she could have just flipped it around on me, making me …

I won't comment anymore about the idealization of promiscuity in our heroes. It was more to get you thinking about it than any semblance of a coherent argument. As far as women wanting to be married, here's some information. Women being married for stability is very true. Traditionally, women reared children and men worked, so women were invested in how much money their husband made because when he did better, she did better. Women tend to be more risk averse than men, as identified by occupatio…

I have no idea what would really work to fix the problems we're facing now. If I had to pick one, I'd think that applauding positive masculine and feminine traits, portray men and women more accurately in media, and try to make sure that we don't forget that ideas can be talked about, no matter how absurd they may seem. In my opinion, men being lifted up for trying to what is right, not what is expedient, would be a good start. This goes for women as well, of course. Perhaps another positive ste…

Think of all the heroes, the legends, from cinema. The hero man is often single, has many sexual partners, and is free of attachment. Indiana Jones sure seems happy, doesnt he? (This is one example, but there are many) And you're right, it's easy to show miserable married men in modern times and avoiding marriage seems much better than trying to develop a relationship when the gamble has a 50% chance of not working.

This is a question with many answers. To start, this is a very Western phenomenon as far as I can find research. Due to prosperity and great social development, there's a concept called "instant gratification". Our base desires, such as hunger or sleep, are able to be indulged. The opposite of it is called "delayed gratification", whereby one denies a base desire to produce something later, such as planting a potato you want to eat in order to eat it later when it is many potatoes. Because of th…

Men's sexuality is a question with many answers. There are straight, gay, and bisexual men. There are sexually ravenous men all the way to asexual men. So, when it comes to men and sexuality, it's a hard subject. I would make the generalization that most men today really do want a committed relationship, with goals and stability, and want to be married with children. Sexually, they want to have a spouse or significant other who pleases them and uplifts them. However, it is fed to young men and b…

I think that even if one knew how to do those things, one needn't actively participate in those particular activities. Just because one can do something doesn't mean one must. I can operate a vehicle with a manual transmission. It doesn't mean I own one or want to.

I have a story of a good friend of mine from college. He was 22, and got accused of molesting his 13 year old niece. At the time, he was dealing with the death of his newborn son. Both he and his girlfriend were receiving all the attention from both sides of the family. He had spent some time with his brother (his niece's father) and his family, including his sister-in-law (brother's wife) and his nephew (brother's son). This accusation came from nowhere, had no merit, and her story changed ever…

In the future, we will have a few dozen exposés about this behavior. We'll see adults who will talk about how people like Kaitlyn Jenner and Jazz Jennings encouraged them to mutilate their bodies, take hormones that gave them cancer, and ignored the real problems they faced. We will see people who are irreversibly damaged, physically and mentally. These are Dark Ages indeed.
