When it comes to a parent, relative, teacher, close friend or someone along those lines, I think the judgement call is sound that you can trust them. I was agreeing with the comment I was replying to and adding that I think the other part of why people are resistant to discussing risk mgmt strategies is because when it comes to people you know being the assaulter a lot of the strategies don't apply. I think the other side of this: So I can understand why feminists are so resistant to discussing practical risk-management strategies.
