Dear diary I've failed And failed And failed But I have been really good this week Anyway I am willing to spend 25% less than I pay for cable For someone to tell me what I already know but won't admit to myself Because knowing the solution doesn't matter Unless someone tells me I am cool for knowing it

And pulling 4 plates at 172? Sounds like the lifting is on track. Full disclosure, that max is from about February. It's entirely possible I'm somewhere below that, but since my 5RM still has my 1RM calculated in the low 400s I'm assuming any drop off isn't too significant.

People do this for two reasons. Either you are communicating to them that you're not worth listening to, or you've said enough dumb shit that they no longer want to hear from you. If it's happening with the first sentence out of your mouth, it's reason 1. If you get rapt attention for a minute and then everyone ignores you it's reason 2.

You desperately need to bulk. Your squat and deadlift are what I would expect out of a middle schooler.

I don't think anything works for a man who isn't ready to fix his shit. But it seems like that might be jarring enough for a man on the edge of improvement to realize how far he has fallen.

OYS 36 28, 5'9", 172 lbs, Bench 235, Squat 375, Deadlift 405 as of last max Fitness I never realized until I started properly cutting how disgusting a 19-20% bf body is. Good week on lifting and nutrition. Cheat day on Sunday bounced me back to 175 but it should drop quickly. I've been eating clean as can be, and it's showing. Hoping that my abs show up somewhere in the 160s, I'm excited to see what a clean bulk does for my gains. Relationship Sex is good, attitude is good. Not a lot to report h…

I didn't explain myself well. I should elaborate. The guy's by definition a cuck, but not wanting animosity from his sons toward the bastard seems to me to stem from his concern for the sons as much as for the infant's sake. In the same situation I'd go hard at nipping that hatred in the bud. It can be such a short path from hating the girl, to hating the love-daddy, to hating the race. OP has fucked up right and left but cutting off the bitterness is one of the few authentically right things he…

It's probably the right way for some guys. It wasn't for me, but I remember reading a FR where the guy had his shit totally on lock and his wife wanted him but was just a fat ugly POS that wouldn't fix herself and he couldn't leave her without fucking up his kids' education... Very specific circumstance. A lot of guys that cheat just want the results before the work.

There's r/redpillwomen but I have no idea if it's any good. Probably the best thing a wife could do for a blue pulled husband is to tell him he is being a little bitch and ask when he stopped being a man. Might kick start his journey.

This was a good week. You made a damn good point a week or so back that I need to stop setting unreachable goals and conditioning myself for failure. I've made a point since then of setting weekly goals that I can achieve, and I've been knocking them down one after another. I feel like I have momentum built up from each achieved goal that helps me hit the next one.

If your wife wants to sleep with you she'll boot the kid right back out. We've brought my son in on rare occasions if he's sick or we are traveling and he needs comfort, but it's always right back to his own room the next night. It's never been an issue. Coincidentally my wife also isn't looking for an excuse to get tf away from me, so my son doesn't turn into one.

OYS 35 28, 5'9" 175lbs, as of last max bench 235 squat 375 deadlift 405. Fitness Good week for fitness. Starting to find a rhythym at the home gym, I'd say 75% as efficient as the real gym and improving. Need to grab some extra 45s so that squat/deadlift is heavy enough. My son has been a dick re:making it to boxing. The second I'm out in the living room, 4:30am, it's like he has a sixth sense for it. Wife is cool about taking him if he wakes up but since she works until midnight I don't ask her…

OYS 34 First one back in a while, I have been trying to limit my Reddit exposure but I've seen somewhat of a backslide in my performance without OYS so this time will be an exception from now on. Fitness My strength training is in a sorry state. I have the home gym setup, but I am struggling to regain the nice routine I had pre-rona. It doesn't help that it's hot as balls in my garage, but so it my boxing gym so it shouldn't stop me. My diet has improved quite a lot. I'm flirting with Keto, just…

That's what I've been up to for the last month. I've taken a huge amount of information from this sub over the last eight months or so. Now I'm taking it out to put into practice. Learned that I have a long way to go. But I have come a long way, too. I'll write about it in next week's OYS.

170 days of flirting. Follow this with 230.6 days of seeing her before going steady. 912 days of going steady before you propose BUT only on a full moon. Or just promote her when you realize you want to be exclusive with her more than you want to play the field. Either way.

My wife surprised me by just...happily complying. I only treat it as a compliance test if it's unreasonable. If I'm just sitting on my ass fingering my phone it's fair game. I should be doing something productive anyway. WOTSM would probably have some quip about how that's her feminine energy noticing my idleness and seeking to prompt me back to action.

Look, getting cheated on can happen, and it would suck. It would suck because I would have to share custody of my son, and because I genuinely enjoy the company of my wife. But I'm not worried about it. I don't spend any time or effort trying to investigate or snoop or stop her from being unfaithful. Because I'm 100% certain I could end our relationship, rebuild a fulfilling life for myself, and maintain a loving relationship with my son. I have no fear of it, just like I have no fear of losing …

I don't know why everyone does temp checks. You're contagious for like two weeks before symptoms show, and like half of people don't even get a fever. It's security theater, just like the TSA.

It's not going to be the end days, but it's getting bad. My wife's ER is filling up in Houston, the ICU is too. It's going to be ugly if they go over capacity. Since we probably don't have the economic capacity to quarantine again, we are looking at 200-300K dead by the end of year. Sure, that's only 1 in 1000 Americans, most old and infirm. Odds are you'll only have like a 1 in 3 chance of even knowing someone who died personally. But if you aren't taking at least basic steps to mitigate the sp…

If she's doing it while you are obviously busy or when it would be easier for her to get it, it's probably a compliance test. If you're in an easier position to get it, she's busy, or she's exhausted...she probably just wants a tea, and hopes you'll do her the favor. Don't overthink it.

If you've got appropriate leverage over her, now would be the time to use it. Doing so will strain the relationship, but who really cares? Of course, since you're asking in askMRP, it's probably a given that you don't. Don't try to guilt her "for the kids," you know she'll just twist the argument until she can justify visiting her new man. Take the kids, but stay away from others, especially the grandparents. Edit: turns out you live with the grandparents. Make a judgement call, and listen to wh…

OYS 33 28, 5'9", 180 lbs, Bench 235 Squat 385 Deadlift 405 Fitness Rough week for working out since everything I did split my finger back open and caused me to bleed everywhere. After a couple of days of trying to rush it and reopening the wound I just decided to let it close up and hit it hard once it does. I was able to deadlift heavyish (~315 lbs) yesterday without any issue so I'm back in the game for lifting. Giving boxing a couple more days since the cut is right on my knuckle. I've put on…

The affair question was my wife recognizing that I'm getting my emotional fulfillment from a source that isn't her. She assumed it was another woman; it's actually me. Validation is and always has been my biggest struggle. I'm long past needing validation for my projects or my appearance or my income. I thought I was past needing validation through sex, but apparently that behavior pattern snuck back in once the sex became abundant. I had no problem initiating nightly and not getting butthurt wh…

Weeks 3, 4, and 8 had the biggest impact on my behavior. Weeks 1, 2, 6, and 7 were all good shit but I feel like I was already pretty tight on those parts of my life. I'm dressing way better, taking care of my skin and hair, and it's showing. Red's social guide combined with Blarg's conversational guide is already paying off. The only week that I don't feel is well in hand is week 5 game, but I'm getting laid all the time anyway so I'm doing something right there. Might be worth considering some…

OYS 32 It's been two weeks since I've posted as I seek to limit the time I spend on my phone. 28, 5'9", 178 lbs, Bench 235, Squat 385, Deadlift 405 at last max. Fitness Good god being back in the gym is great. I just can't get the same mojo flowing in my garage. Between lifting and boxing I've got plenty of activity. I already was the strongest I've ever been in January, now I'm headed for the best shape of my life too. Goals for 2020 are a 400 lb squat and a 250lb bench. Should be easily doable…

I'm an engineering major who cleared 6 figures in my mid twenties. The trick is to become an expert in something not very many people specialize in and sell the fuck out of yourself. For me, it was a certain part of pharmaceutical development. You sound like a mechanical engineer, give some thought to less common but critical fields like fluid dynamics, materials, etc. Think of it as an on-the-job PhD. Once you have that skill set, people will pay you a whole lot more than 65k. I hit 6 figures a…

Me too. I find it very easy to make one-time friends at the beach or when camping, but between work and my son I don't have 200 hours for just anyone. This is a great guide. And a good reminder that friendships, like anything else, require effort and planning.

OYS 31 28, 5'9", 174 lbs. B/S/D lifts reduced from PR of 235/385/405 due to cut. Fitness Wife has moved onto mid shift at work which means I am able to work out in the morning 5 days a week. The only excuse now is getting my lazy ass out of bed and doing the work. Because I was traveling pretty much all of last week, I only worked out twice. That's unacceptable and I plan on ideally six days per week (3 days lifting, 3 days boxing) or 5 when I have weekend plans. I now have a decent home gym aet…

Depends on what you want from her. If you want a relationship dynamic you know she doesn't have the ability to deliver, why stay with her? If all you want from her is good sex, good cooking, and basic social graces, dumb might not be an issue. If you want a dual income household or to delegate more complex tasks to her, it might be a dealbreaker.

The short answer is that the approach for this environment is exactly the same as for any other. The long answer is that you need to hold in your mind that circumstances are worse now. You are going to have to work harder and slip less to avoid losing what little progress you've found. You should be giving your wife the opportunity to watch as you fix your house, do weird bodyweight fitness routines, and generally own your shit instead of sinking into a depression or getting drunk every day. I've never seriously considered starting my own business. If I did, I'd probably leverage my unique technical skill set to sell either reference material or sell my time as a consultant. In fact, writing reference guides to drug product development seems like something I could make a lot of money on. Everyone plays it close to the chest to sell their consulting services, but making a how-to handbook could really break that model, if it was good. I'll keep this in mind. I need more experience bef…

That's a bitch. Especially the equity since they can just put the legal ball in your court and go about their business. I don't know what you do, but is a quick stint with an established consulting firm a possibility? You'd be using their contacts, not yours, and they often hire people for just one or two projects at a time. Pay will be shit compared to consulting independently but it could be worth it to lower your risk.

For what it's worth non-competes are a huge pain in the ass to enforce and as long as you aren't plausibly using proprietary information you're probably okay. The company has to prove damages: that you violating the agreement has caused them to actually lose money or a competitive advantage. My industry is full of the damn things, and I make a habit of ignoring them. OYS 30 28, 5'9", 176 lbs. Max lifts are anyone's guess at this point, but near 1k total. Fitness My gym didn't reopen with the rest of them. Fuck that. The good news it that I finally found a weight set I can pick up this weekend. The bad news is that it's 700 miles away. Worth it, I'm fucking getting that. It's actually my dad's old set that he's too old to use, so I'm just going to turn the weekend into a family visit and take it with me when I go. 300lb set, so I won't be able to max squat or…
