T H I S ^ with a 🍒 on top This kind of realization seems to come only with enough experience and/or self reflection. I myself am guilty of pining after "the one that got away" and must admit I'm surprised at how long it took me to realize how little any of those strong emotions had to do with the actual person and how much it was really related to everything going on with me - general unhappiness with myself concealed with a fantasy of some relationship being the answer. But MAN infatuation is o…

Not just toxic, but a specific kind of toxic, it's sexist. Which comes through in OP's entire post bar some good points. OP there's still lots of RP ideology left or maybe you're just unaware of your bias towards patriarchy. Either ways the latter is alive and well, feminism is still very much needed or else we wouldn't have guys (like you OP) overreacting to women coming forward with their experiences, for one.

Keeping it real. One of the best reads yet. What I adore about FDS is how no words are minced, but instead directly to the core point and shattering all ideals, illusions and wishful thinking on the way. Further yet, those same clear words FDS provides are so helpful in standing my ground, both internally and in social interactions. Now I'm lucky to have always felt this way since I can remember, yet it was just that... a feeling. In the face of my generations dominant social narrative it felt w…

You know, this sounds like wisdom for the elusive dark triad women sub, I've not seen it myself though as it's supposedly private/invite only? Maybe some FDSer in the know can guide us further.

I really can't explain this to myself in general, very frustrating. Colleagues? Ok, sure, you're here to work and maybe just don't fancy having anything much to do with me. But in the context you gave...? Guess it'll have to be taken for exactly what it looks like, your convo partner is not interested in you for you. I've seen people argue the point that "some are not comfortable with prodding, if you don't volunteer information it means you don't want to talk abo-" sorry, no. Nooo. No. And even…

Oh hell no, that sounds absolutely unsustainable. And also very recent! My heart goes out to you, after all it was 4 years, to just ghost a relationship like that is so heartless. But the similarities keep coming, through all the communication issues, mechanical intimacy or even complete lack thereof I too had to deal with him just ghosting in the end. I essentially forced him to respond and admit that he ckecked out after over a month of silence (mine was a full on LDR though). Anyways, I wish …

Yikes, how did that manifest in your relationship? And what was the straw that broke it for you? Your comment struck me, because my ex too "doesn't feel feelings", avoidant as all hell and while not showing disrespect overtly he anecdotally found guys who bash women to be hilarious. Absolutely denies therapy can be a thing as well. Barely spoke of his childhood but did tell me that at 5 years old he witnessed his dad literally rip the phone from the wall when his mom tried calling police. :|

Ok, I'm gonna share a slightly different story and an embarrassing one at that. Make of it what you will but please go easy on me as this was during one of my lower pickmeisha points and a year or more pre-FDS. I daydreamt one specific scenario with a guy I was hopelessly crushing on. Hopeless as in work had me frequent a store he ran. Sexual tension grew THICK yet none of us would make a move. Time went by and instead of doing things irl my brain preferred to daydream... and took a liking to th…

You're right, that IS one hell of a power move! I never even thought about this before but now I feel like I should consider my grandmothers maiden name as it's been really just her, my mom and me at the core of our little family. None of the men involved in our lineage stepped up to anything more than bare LVM minimum, so why would THEIR name deserve the honor? Fuel for serious thought...

Huh, is that a thing journalists do? Is spelling lead as lede an actual journalist insider?? Not sure why, but that really fascinates and amuses me right now!

No, it indeed did not "sound good". At all. That day the whole man was thrown away and never heard from again as she, disappointed but not surprised, knew to not waste her time any longer. OP my condolences for your loss. By kicking this tool to the curb you've done nothing but made your late gramps proud!

Sadly that's the hallmark of an abusive relationship, once in as deep as you described her, leaving becomes unfathomably difficult. Which looks all the more ridiculous from the outside. Safe to say her pickmeisha ways got her into this, but by now I'm afraid it'd take much more than just a shift in perspective for her to break the cycle...

It's the oldest, most boring, most unoriginal druggery since the dawn of the internet and turns sharing creative makings that even remotely involve yourself/a female body from fun to fretful, knowing that half the comments will only amount to THIS.

This, absolutely and 100%. Fantastic link. OP pleass do NOT feel bad about your choice, in fact CELEBRATE it as it was the right one, right now everyone with the FDS mindset is celebrating you for standing up for yourself and your worth! No it's not easy and you're not made of stone, take your time to grieve and process all emotions and heartbreak. But know that here you'll find women who will back you up in every decision that you make in your own best interest. And leaving a lukewarm stringalo…

I wonder what types of conversations he's looking to spark with this. "Haha, my aunt's actually got a beachfront house near Málaga, we could go there on vacation some time :)"?? If it's a troll, well, nobody cares. If it's a joke he's gone uncomfortably deep in on it.

Oh unfortunately most men for sure subscribe to this clowns logic. I just meant specifically the ones active on that post disapproved. I tried to find the comment I quoted anew and I think he removed it after hitting -29 though lol

Ladies and ladies, I present you Bozo the certified non-simp: "I think it's a power dynamic think. If all or most men would treat women a certain way, women have no choice but to accept that "men will be men." When simps come in treating women like queens for no reason, they ruin this dynamic for the rest of us. Now we're expected to break our backs to meet their higher expectations." Because men treating us too well is a pandemic downright worse than rona. I can barely save myself from all the …
