2	In France, every noun has a gender. In the U.S., we can't even say actress or stewardess. actually, it was the uneducated masses, IIRC. i was taught (very briefly, not an english student or historian by any right) that the german that english came from was spoken by the common people, who were less educated (read: uneducated) and thus spoke a sloppy language whereas modern german came from high german, spoken by the royalty and such, and therefore was as complicated as they wanted because they were taught all the rules. there weren't educated liberals around the turn of the first mil…	/r/MensRights	24/12/11 08:50 PM
1	In France, every noun has a gender. In the U.S., we can't even say actress or stewardess. most languages out there have genders for nouns. french, being a romance language derived from latin, does (though latin had a third gender, neuter or something like that) . english i think was derived from a low german language and does not. this goes back to well before anything like gender rights came into question, like 1000s CE.	/r/MensRights	24/12/11 08:34 PM
1	I'm currently deployed in Afghanistan. Ever since DADT was repelled I've seen a huge drop in troop moral, unit effectiveness, and overall respect for other soldiers. This may get downvoted to hell, but I want my voice to be heard on the subject.
