To be fair, it is a natural response. We feel awkward in those situations and people are comfortable talking about themselves so they chime in with some anecdote to fill the silence. The reason why most men are better at catching and killing the behavior is that we are more self aware.

My sister literally just gave me a 'black people cannot be racist' argument in the car due to the institutionalized oppression against them. "Just like with women". I feel for her husband.

Motorcycles. In a day where we cannot accept even a tiny bit of additional risk in our lives without people thinking you're nuts... It's a great time to start. There is a reason why it has enthralled so many men for so long. Sense of freedom, the satisfaction nailing a perfect turn, and amazing comradarie. And they are simple to work on, a continuous process if you ride as much as I do. It's meditation on two wheels.

How do you reconcile this with every sitcom in the past ten years showing a 3 male with a 7-8 female? Family guy, king of queens, everybody loves raymond, etc etc. Edit: Downvotes for thoughtful discussion questions? Hmm... My theory was that these are examples of women finding a sub-standard beta provider, settling for them on the long term once their fun times on the carousel have run out. Hence why they show such little respect and pussification of their husbands.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
