The_Bravinator explains why the Mens' Rights Movement is not supported by mainstream Feminism(x-post depthhub)I kind of prefer the MRM over feminism, but largely because feminist theory is a massive collection of either unfalsifiable, disproven, or unsubstantiated claims. This is in r/feminism, people. | /r/MensRights | 03/08/12 10:13 PM

It's Only Sexist When Men Do ItThis will be lost in among the comments but I experienced something at Comic Con yesterday that plays very well into this topic. And I was appalled when it happened. I was at the True Blood Q&A and without spoiling too much, in one of the later episodes a male character is tied down, fed viagra and raped by multiple women. At one point the Executive producer of the show was asked what his favorite part of the previous episodes was. "I quite enjoyed it when ___ was raped ritualistically by all th… | /r/MensRights | 23/07/11 06:39 PM
Hey r/MensRights - I'm a female trying to understandWhy did you make this thread? D: Anywho, I've been frequenting this subreddit for a while now and have to admit that you can get a lot of downvotes just because someone disagrees with your opinion. (See Hamakua's post explaining that's what you're supposed to do) It can get really annoying when someone makes a thread going "Why is it not okay to require sex when she can require I take out the trash?" and you bring some thoughts to the table on why that can be and get downvoted because you seem t… | /r/MensRights | 08/07/11 02:48 PM
Is there any way for men to minimize the economical damage during divorce?Yeah, to me the parental leave is a great thing for fathers since they do not have any physical reason to stay home after the baby is born. They didn't have a baby come out of them so they could physically go to work the day after. So the fact that no company can fire them because they want to spend half a year watching their son/daughter grow up helps fixing that biological difference. But I guess that it would take forever to get that mentality and those rights to work in the States since the … | /r/MensRights | 02/06/11 04:03 PM
Is there any way for men to minimize the economical damage during divorce?Wow, this is a situation where I notice English isn't my primary language since if it would've been written in Swedish I would be able to understand it better and be able to discuss it on a deeper level. But to me, and my limited understanding, it seems you are assuming it will be the the mother that will stay at home for a year and then be able to jump right into her career again. Whereas the father will just lose his importance as the provider and therefore his importance as a parent. Did I un… | /r/MensRights | 02/06/11 03:00 PM
Is there any way for men to minimize the economical damage during divorce?Well, I'm from Sweden so I guess that is true. I have never gone through that myself so I can't tell you what it really looks like when it comes to custody. But it's been discussed in the media that the kids almost automatically end up living with the mother. I can't tell you if that is the court's ruling, but I would assume so since I can't imagine fathers giving up the fight that easily. But my own experience (with like ten cases of friends with divorced parents) is that they get 50% each if t… | /r/MensRights | 02/06/11 01:37 PM
Is there any way for men to minimize the economical damage during divorce? This is what I was getting at I guess. So the fact that men are losing alot of money at a divorce is supposed to be because of the lack of pre-nup and also that he makes a lot of money and she stayed at home? (Theoretically) But this isn't true in real life? I'm wondering if the things I mentioned in the OP (guaranteed, free day care plus long, guaranteed parent leave without affecting career) should be something both men and women should be fighting for together. AND of course changing the mind… | /r/MensRights | 02/06/11 01:26 PM
Ridiculous relationship inequality (and I don't like my wife's friends)Ah, I was mainly saying that her friends' assumptions about OP posted on the internet was assholery, just want OP to understand I didn't call his wife an asshole :D I assume she really wants to get her libido up. But yeah, posting it anonymously somewhere else is a much better alternative of course. | /r/MensRights | 20/05/11 02:23 PM
Ridiculous relationship inequality (and I don't like my wife's friends)you can't force her to have sex (that's marital rape), Agreed, but this shouldn't be changed. you can't leave her (you'd never see your kids or house again, Agreed, but this is something that I hope MRA can change in the near future. and you can't cheat on her (you pervert! - and of course if she cheats on you, it is your fault because you didn't "fulfill" her needs Wow, is this true? My experience is that women and men are equally despised for cheating. | /r/MensRights | 20/05/11 02:09 PM
Ridiculous relationship inequality (and I don't like my wife's friends)I don't know if that made much sense, kinda unstructured. Maybe I'll go over it when I have time. | /r/MensRights | 20/05/11 02:00 PM
| 0 | Ridiculous relationship inequality (and I don't like my wife's friends)Hmm, I think that the reason sex is an exception is because we are in a society that makes sex such a big thing. Women are being obejctified (men too ofc) and sexualised from a young age. But now people are noticing this so women hear from a very young age that she shouldn't have to do anything just because others tell her to. The reason why it is not comparable to taking out the trash is because women have been surronded by those words since they were 13. "Don't do anything you don't want to.
