The problem with registries is it treat all offenders the same. As I understand, all sex offenders must register. The people who urinated in the wrong place at the wrong time, the people who had sex a month too early, and the people who legitimately harmed another person. That's a good point as well. There is some serious stupidity on the part of how our laws treat "sex crimes" - like putting a public pisser on the same level with a molesters (at least as far as the registry's go)

Does anyone else think that "<Insert crime here> registries" are not a really good thing? Like, if someone is dangerous enough to be on a registry then maybe they shouldn't be out of prison in the first place. How about we get stricter sentencing for things that get people on a registry in the first place: sex crimes, child abuse, and stop screwing around with incarceration for crimes that are largely victimless. He doesn't have to shoot while the kid is in the act of rape. The law says sexual assault or attempted sexual assault. For all the homeowner knew, the kid had just climbed in through the bedroom window and hadn't started raping her yet. Under Texas law that still qualify as an imminent sexual assault. Second, please provide sources for how you clairvoyantly know that the father was the physical aggressor. Third, be aware that the daughter said she was being raped didn't know who the teen was, an…

SELF DEFENSE (a) Except as provided in Subsection (b), a person is justified in using force against another when and to the degree the actor reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to protect the actor against the other's use or attempted use of unlawful force. The actor's belief that the force was immediately necessary as described by this subs…

Check out the laws on deadly force in texas....specifically for those in an occupied home. You will see the law quite clearly is on the fathers side. Now maybe the daughter gets charged with something for her bullshit lie...involuntary manslaughter, or negligent homicide, maybe. But this wasn't the fathers fault

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
