Don't listen to that guy, u are over thinking it. But that guy is just being a dick. Shoot ur shot. She seems nice enough that she will be respectful if she says no. If ur looking for sex, the park idea isn't the move. But if ur genuinely interested, and willing to play the long game. Building a good friendship is a great idea. Just make sure to stay a little on the flirty side so she still sees u as a potential match
