I guess they're a nicer person than I am. I'm not going to spend longer than I need to with someone I'm not having fun with. I'd tell them I'm leaving, and why, obviously. Just sneaking out would be awful. You're right. A weekend afternoon wouldn't be bad maybe. I've always gone with an evening event though. I like my days for myself, and I've always found there's more to do in the evening/night than in the day. It has a more fun feeling to it. I've never gone on a first date with someone I hadn…

Fine. You win this round. I was wrong. But now I've learned that marriage contracts are a thing.

I’m not from the US, so I’m not as familiar with your laws as I should be. Israel and India are the countries that immediately come to mind, as listed above. This was the general statement I was making though. It would be lunacy to accuse someone of rape because they lied about their profession to get laid (obviously some pretending to be a doctor for nefarious purposes is very different - that’s practicing medicine without a license and already a crime).
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/20 08:35 PM

It is very literally a contract. That’s why there is legal repercussions for breaking it.

Don’t get hung up on things like virginity and pair bonding is how. Just enjoy your life and everything that comes with it
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/20 05:40 PM

By your own admission it did not. Otherwise you wouldn’t be posting here.

Humans aren’t designed for pair bonding. Another social construct.

That’s fine that you’re not having kids. It’s a hypothetical. No one wants a liar. But people lie. Even if it’s small mistruths. No one would want to be around a person who is truthful all the time. “Honey, do these pants make me look fat”? “No dear, it’s the fact that you’re fat that makes you look fat”. See how much honesty sucks?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/20 04:45 PM

Ethically wrong and legally wrong are very different things. You could argue plastic surgery is lying. If someone had a nose job to fix their hideous snout, do you feel you should know about this? What if you marry them, and your kids inherit it? Lying is part of being human. We need to remove the transactional nature of sex. That’s the root of this.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/20 04:37 PM
2

I’ve been trying to find a case of that being true in North America and can’t. To me it’s shady on both parts. The girl is sleeping with someone on a transactional basis, which is shitty. The guy is taking advantage of her shallowness, which is also shitty.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/20 04:27 PM

If she thinks the man might be turned off by how high the number is maybe?

Plastic surgery, push up bras, spanx, weaves, the list goes on.

Only if you’re below a certain viral loading, taking medications, and can’t transmit to a partner (I believe). Still horrifying, but I do kind of get the idea. Would I be beyond furious if it happened to me? Hells yes. But this is why you don’t go raw. Trust no one. The only time you know you need a condom is when a woman says you don’t.

Virginity is a social construct.

Now there’s an idea. Marriage as a legal concept is antiquated anyways. I say throw the whole concept of it being a contract out the window.

If you’re going to bang someone solely because they told you they’re a doctor, that’s on you. Sleep with people who who they are, not what they have.

I did just learn that the case of a Chinese man suing his wife for not disclosing her plastic surgery is fake. That was the next one I was going to throw out there. Shame.

It’s already illegal in some places. If you lie about being Jewish to an Israeli women (in Israel) that’s rape. [(https://abcnews.go.com/International/palestinian-claimed-jew-jailed-rape-deception/story?id=11224513)] Similarity, lying about your profession can be considered rape. It would fall under rape by deception laws [(https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/23/well/mind/is-sex-by-deception-a-form-of-rape.html)] These are things that exist already. It opens a whole can of worms though, like what ab…

It's a really lame first date. It's one thing to grab a coffee to go, and then walk somewhere fun. But to just sit around in a coffee shop? I guess to each their own. I'd never extend an offer like that, and I'd never expect anyone to take me seriously if I did. It's never hard to end a date. You just say you're not feeling it, and you leave. I've also never gone on an afternoon first date. Maybe this is something people do. Everyone I've ever dated has a job, so that kind of thing is difficult.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/20 02:19 AM

I've never gotten a coffee date as as a first date. A coffee date is what I have with a girl I'm already seeing when we're both busy and can only squeeze in 10 minutes during the work day. Why would you set yourself up for a 10 minute first encounter? Like how long does it take you to drink a coffee? Are you sitting there pounding them back like shots? the drinks gets cold, you're in a busy environment, it's pointless to just idly sit in a cafe? Plus now your breathe reeks of coffee. At a minimu…

That's literally my entire point. He was going to pay (had every intention to). Then, as a shit test (whatever the hell that idiocy is), she decided to "test him", by offering to pay her own share. Now here's where the part about her being an asshole comes in. He, having already offered to pay, now has to choose between looking cheap, or looking disrespectful. Either of these is a lose for him, and one that could easily have been avoided if she hadn't played games. She was a bad person. If a guy…

Where were we discussing age? Or anything to do with age?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/20 04:57 AM

She offered to pay. So he said ok. But he went into it expecting to pay. So when she offered it’s a conundrum. Risk direspecting her by refusing her wishes (because you should always assume someone is so sincere), or risk looking cheap of you accept (in the event it’s a stupid women playing stupid games). He fell prey to the latter. He still paid though. At least that was my interpretation. He paid, but she made a big deal about offering and him accepting. But the end of the story (at least imo)…

What was the valuable discovery? That this man put faith in you to hold up your words? And you were a liar? Should he have just assumed she was a liar, and of no value with her words?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/20 07:37 PM

If you don’t understand that “being worth their word” means they follow up on their words with actions, I don’t quite know what to tell you. This women had zero respect for her date, and was playing stupid games. She deserves to be alone
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/20 07:31 PM
16

That’s fine. It’s the methodology that made her a low value person. Use your words and not childish games. I put this right up there with making empty offers to help someone move. Someone is only worth as much as their word, and she showed how little she is worth.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/20 07:25 PM
13

Because he was going to pay, and she made an empty offer to get half, then got upset when he took her up on it. If you make empty offers you are a 0 value person.

That he treats you as an equal? Even when I’m with guy friends, it’s often whoever requests the bill picks it up unless otherwise specified. To be fair, I’m not talking first few dates. I’m talking in an established relationship. I’m agreeing that yes, the guy should pick up the bill. This is known. Just don’t even offer to split it because it makes you seem like you might actually want to. It happens - some women are self sufficient. And if we’re trying to be respectful we’ll let you. So don’t …

It’s a simple concept. Stand by your offers. If you aren’t prepared to back it up, just don’t make it. If I’m on a date, I’m paying. But if a girl offers I’m going to assume it’s because she actually wants to, and I’ll let her get small things. On the rare occasion where the girl I’m seeing says she wants to get a meal, I’m not going to patronize her by refusing or making a big deal out of it. I don’t have time to waste bickering about who pay. You volunteer, you hold up your end. So, my respons…

Maybe it’s different from women than men than. There is no “tall/dark/and muscles” equivalent, for men. Hot in a woman is generally now just meant to mean “not morbidly obese”.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/20 08:59 PM
1

Because it’s a meaningless statement. I’m fairly certain women, like men, don’t have a homogeneous opinion of what’s attractive. So be specific in what you think (tall/hairstyle/body type/power). Hot means different things to everyone. Same as you third point. What morals. Just any?

I can’t be the only one who has a relationship end because the sexual chemistry isn’t there. You can get along great with someone, want to be with them, and just not have that comparability. There’s tiers to physical attraction I feel. You can appreciate someone’s appearance, or you can desire them. And sometimes you realize all it was was desire, as opposed to something lasting. It seems to get a lot of hate, but sexual compatibility is crucial, and just because you love someone doesn’t mean th…

Alright....I've found it, and have read it. To start with, this paper was written by two researchers at a private Mormon university - so obviously the research is expected to be a little biased. Lets start with their results section though. They've clearly shown in this paper that relationship satisfaction is most highly influenced by communication and sexual quality. It's only through the introduction of further qualifiers that they were able to modify the results to tip sexual timing towards c…

/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/20 09:11 PM

I’m not critiquing you’re tastes. Simply pointing out that you seem to like fat women, not curvy women. That’s where the use of the word gets tough.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/20 07:37 PM

where are her curves Are we even looking at the same picture? It’s the shape of the curves, not the size. If you think curvy means round, then you’re definition of curvy means fat. That woman is not model thin. She’s amazingly proportioned, and very curvy. Look at her hips to wait to chest ratio. Big butt =/= nice butt. That’s the entire conversation here. No one want to flick someone and see the jiggles move throughout their entire body.

I guess I’ve always been able to tell relatively quickly if I like someone or not. Several dates over several months seems very drawn out and would not indicate interest to me. But what I’ve also gathered is that women value commitment with some men over sex. So while they’re will to go out and get laid just as easily as a man, they won’t do this with a man they might actually be interested in, which seems counterintuitive. If I like a girl, I want to find out as quickly as possible whether or n…

/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/20 07:13 PM

Similar to the flow of a conversation. Some people you get along with intellectually, some romantically, some sexually. Some people you just mesh better with. If you’ve never been in a situation where you don’t wordlessly know what your partner wants in bed, bodies flow like one, effortless passion, then it’s hard to explain. But if you’ve ever talked with a person, and just clicked...it’s the same with sex. So my arguement is, why wait months to find out if you click or not?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/20 06:39 PM

Yeah, and the proportion is the jiggle/cellulite. It’s too much weight for a frame. If it floats your boat, that’s great, but she’s not thicc she’s fat.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/20 06:34 PM

It’s never acceptable for men to be fat. Dad bod is literally proof. We say it mockingly because it’s based on someone who stopped caring ally their appearance because they’ve landed their partner and have other concerns now.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/20 06:23 PM

I’ll be the one to say it. It’s perceived bigger women are more achievable so they become e attractive to people who can’t get what they actually want.

Incompatible is very much a thing. What if the person has no rhythm with you, or you don’t like their taste, or they turn out to be too submissive/dominant for your tastes, or they refuse to do that thing you like.

This is patently untrue. Some people don’t mesh sexually. It’s not a good or bad thing, but different people hate different things. Imagine waiting 4 months to find out anything else about your partner like their tastes in food or music or entertainment. It’s the same concept. Date a girl for four months only to st down and watch tv together and realize she likes TLC or HGTV. The only reason to wait on sex is if you put it on a pedestal or consider it something shameful. If you consider it impor…

I guarantee your issue is that your profile makes you look like an ass if all you lost is your height. I’m 6’1” and don’t even have it listed. I’ve had great success with OLD because I spent some time and put together a reasonably decent profile. People do read these, and if a girl doesn’t have one, I’m not even looking at her pictures, regardless of what she looks like, as most of us aren’t wasting our time on someone who doesn’t have anything more to offer than their looks/occupation.

There's loads of tall guys that're ugly as sin/have no game, and equally loads of short guys that have no issues with women. If you're hung up on the fact that you're short, its the chip on your shoulder that makes you more unattractive than your actual height.

/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/20 06:06 PM

It's likely. To me, the topic of whether someone is a quality person or not seems clinical. Like you're picking up a piece of hardware. Are they a good person...or a bad person when that's what you're in the mood for. That is to me, an entirely different question.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/20 04:48 PM
1

What exactly makes someone "low quality". We all value different things in people, so it is obscenely subjective. I only date people I have fun with. It doesn't really fall into a quality thing, more of a "do we have compatible interests/personalities". If you're sitting there with a spreadsheet ranking people based on predetermined qualifications...I'm not quite sure what kind of syndrome you have, but it's probably diagnosable. So in the context of the original statement: young women who date …

Early 30's have been going pretty well tbh. But to be fair, I was in long term relationships on and off from 17-30. So the past few years are my only real experience with "dating". But the experience has been amazing so far.

What are you even talking about. We pursue younger women when we’re not ready to settle down and have a family. Dating someone 5-10 years younger than you buys you some time on child bearing, as well as the youthful exuberance that comes with it. If you want to be in your 30’s and still out tearing up the club scene with a partner, then as a guy you’ll probably have better luck managing that with someone in their 20’s. Who in their right mind wants a woman who’s “chaste”. That sounds miserably b…

Why is everyone wrapped up in “quality”? Maybe if we started looking at partners as people, rather than commodities with a trade value, we’d have a better time in life.

In my experience this is patently untrue. Any man of any age, if they are reasonable looking, not a creep, possessing the most basic of social graces, and with a decent job should have no issues attracting anyone. In my personal experience, it’s more about you’re ability to carry on a conversation and generally be a fun person. There’s no trick to attracting people, despite what you’re going to read on the internet. You simply need to put yourself out there, be social, learn to carry on an intel…

And I guess that’s where the dissonance lies. My understanding of that is you don’t want sex - the sex is simply a means to a caring relationship. Like if there’s no love and affection, you don’t get anything out of it? Meaning what you do get in a relationship is the love...and the sex is merely the price you think you have to pay. Which is why I’m advocating to separate the two. Sex should never be used as a bargaining chip.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/20 05:33 PM

So you equate sex to a relationship. Meaning for you it’s transactional? You only want sex of you’re getting something other than sex out of it?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/20 05:20 PM
1

The issue is that some people view sex differently. As it’s a highly subjective topic, really we can all only be accountable to ourselves, which is my general point. An individual can be a generous lover, but can’t walk around worried about how someone else feels about it, as there is literally no way to comprehend the feelings of someone else. We will never experience what they do, so instead both parties should just try to enjoy the physical pleasure, and stop worrying about the emotions somet…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/20 05:11 PM

You have zero control over someone else’s emotions, and shouldn’t bear responsibility for them (save generally not being a jerk to them). If someone has emotional hang ups relating to sex, that is the person’s own issue. They shouldn’t be placing responsibility for their emotions onto others.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/20 05:02 PM

That seems a “them” problem. It’s a physical concept, and maybe they should work on adjusting to that? Stop tying sex to anything other than physical pleasure.

Not just your profession, but your religion. I believe I read some cases about men who lied about being Jewish, and were charged with rape because of it. But if the only reason a woman is sleeping with you because of your perceived occupation/religion/possessions...it says something about her character. While she’s not saying she outright wants something for sex, the fact that there’s mechanisms to punish the man if he can’t uphold these expectations is nuts. Imagine bragging how amazing you wer…

Isn't this the motto/strategy everyone uses at work? Underpromise and overdeliver? It's not a lie to undersell yourself in the same way it is to oversell yourself. No one would ever be disappointed to have someone exceed their initial expectations. While there's some dishonesty involved, I fail to see the harm in it. I'd be curious as to why they chose to not put their best foot forward, and it would hopefully lead to some decent conversation, but I wouldn't walk away.
