There's no way I can tell you what your mission is, badger. You and you alone determine what you want out of life. You're at that awesome time in your life where all the best stuff is in front of you. You don't have to have it all figured out now, but you should give yourself time and space to explore what truly makes you happy. A woman being part of your life, if setup properly, can be a nice, supportive addition, or it can derail you for years. (not that I'd know). The main point is that your …

There's nothing wrong with taking a step back and enjoying an ltr from time to time. If it doesn't work out, you can move on. Coming from an old(er) married guy, just don't be surprised if you end up with a similar lack of fulfillment from an ltr. You're only going to get that by fulfilling your mission.

Holy soul crusher, Batman. That may be the most depressing thing I've ever seen. I have work to do. The irony is that I am leaving tomorrow to attend two different weddings back home with my family. I'll do my best to keep my looks of disgust to myself.

On one hand, I'm incredibly jealous, because I wish I could have learned about all this at 15. On the other hand, you couldn't pay me to re-experience those years of my life. My point is to just be prepared for a rough few years and keep your head. It unfortunately comes with the territory. As others have said, do your best to set yourself up for a successful life. Try not to get wrapped up in the f'd up social dynamics that happen at your age. The one thing I wish I could have learned at your a…

This is definitely one of those catch-22's. You need to be more comfortable with the moment, but in order to become more comfortable, you have to be more successful. I get it. If women are approaching you, then the hardest part is taken care of. The rest will come much easier. Here's what I would do... Smile. Whether you or they approach, start with a big genuine smile, and maintain eye contact. Do some reading and thinking about the art of conversation (just Google and read, there's a ton out t…

David got it. First, be someone who people want to be around. If you are not, this will hold you back. In my experience, there's just no way around it.

cwalkin2much for the win. The trick is to find questions that allow them to talk about themselves. I don't care for the scripted approach. I'm much more a fan of just reading their interests and asking a lot of probing questions. You may need a few canned questions to get the conversation started, but then just keep asking follow ups. You hit a topic of interest, and they'll fill the conversation without a problem.

Totally agree with this. Being aggressive and being in control are very different. another way (my favorite) to learn to be more in the moment is to meditate. Develop a strong mind and self control by exercising your mind. If you don't know where to start, look up zen meditation. it's the center of my personal development.

Yes on the first, no the second. Absolutely get out of your comfort zone. do things that challenge and scare you. Instead of joining a gym, I practiced martial arts. I'd highly recommend it for building confidence. But don't just do things to do them. Find activities that enrich you. If posting here everyday does that, great. The internets are here for you. But you may find it becomes more of a chore than a benefit and you'll get discouraged with the whole lot.

I agree with Zack on this. also, don't forget about building some rapport. i think of escalation, attraction, and rapport as a three legged stool. If they're not balanced, it can be awkward.

My TL;DR is a bit different from yours: There's a fine line between loosening up and losing control. Glad you recognized the line when you saw it!

You're taking some good first steps. Your early 20's are going to be a chaotic mess of hormones and immature social circles. You just have to embrace the chaos and do your best to have fun. Be patient and keep at it. This is a lifelong journey. First and foremost, as those books you referenced told you, focus on making yourself a better Man. Celebrate your masculinity. Set your own rules. Find your mission. Develop your mind, body, and spirit. Be a man of action, and don't let fear, intimidation…
