'blue chip' refers to the Dow Jones Industrial Average, it's what you see on TV when talking about stocks and someone says 'the Dow dropped 1000 pts today'.

What's the risk in private placements beyond "person must stay in position for X amount of time and not be a blatant fruad" or something to that effect?

So I ran into a block where the only opportunities for advancement were 1. Go to management 2. Transfer to a supposedly higher team that was effectively a downgrade for me. I took option 3, which was to lobby for the creation of a position I could be promoted into within my current org. If you're hitting senior staff, is there not a distinguished/principal track? I've also seen tech companies move people into things like the office of the CxO to allow them to get more freedom for promotions and …

A lot of folks focus way too hard on salary and not enough on other benefits, financial or otherwise. That doesn't mean work for slave wages, but there's a lot more to a job than just raw salary/hourly income. My career is being a mercenary with the slightest tinge of loyalty, it affords me a massive amount of personal time that I'd never get being my own boss or running my own business. I don't think the traditional '20 years and a gold watch' career exists, but a 'career' exists - you just hav…

I used to have a horrific temper and serious rage issues. Age has tempered it a lot, but learning how it impacted others (and therefore impacted me) helped me as well. No one respects a guy that's angry or violent for no reason, and folks that don't respect you aren't going to follow you. Being able to control yourself is a key to success, no one wants to associate with someone who can't maintain their control. That doesn't mean you aren't boiling beneath the surface, but if you can't control th…

You don't need an appt with a therapist, you need an appt with a divorce lawyer. Stop talking to him and her, call a lawyer, go to the gym, stop taking drugs, keep yourself together.

This should be a sticky for how to not engage in conversation with a woman. Look at dat DEER in the headlights. Never complain, never explain.

Exit interviews are for the company, not you. Absolutely nothing will change as as result of what you say except that you will end up with black marks - there is no benefit to you saying anything negative. Keep the complaints for your buddies at the bar where they belong. Be clear on where things stand, be professional and courteous when talking with others, leave with your head held high.

I'm assuming you mean other interesting things to read, not specifically manosphere content - other replies here cover that. The first thing is you're comparing a small niche subreddit like TRP to large 'default' subreddits. Those subs have tons of normal, boring people posting in them that aren't people you want to really interact with. What you want to do is find something specific you want to read about and go find it. For example I am slowly learning about wood and metal working, so I read a…

I messaged the admins about this the day it happened and got a 3 day suspension. I am now following up on why I was banned for 'harassment' when nothing I said met the Reddit TOS for harassment, unless 'messaging an admin something they don't like' is now harassment. No /u/bsutansalt there will not be a blue wave, it will be a fucking red tsunami.

You already lost frame here by not immediately calling him on his shit. When he broke out that "it seems like you've made your decision" like you should have immediately put a stop to it. Assuming there's no other information you're omitting, that just reeks of a weak leader and you needed to flip the script on him. It's not your responsibility to staff the department, he approved your PTO and needs to deal with it. Firing you won't get the work done either, so he's probably blustering. That's s…

Yea I'm not a flat tax/'Fair Tax' (capital letters) person, I also like the progressive income tax system. Having said that, what is 'fair' is entirely subjective anyway. The best you can do is get a significant majority to agree something is fair. I could say the same thing about your positive views on the progressive income tax system, that it's entirely emotional on your part and nothing would dissuade you either. An example of where there is a lack of taxing based on consumption right now is…

Just because you can see a pattern in the weeds doesn't mean it has structure. He bobs and weaves between making emotional arguments and trying to be logical and reference formal dialogue. He has no solution, merely 'throwing conservatives off the train'. What is their vision for the future? While I may be straying into No True Scotsman territory, a 'true' conservative vision would be one where people are treated exclusively on their (de)merits without exception. Anyone is free to make their own…

Unlike liberals, conservatives don't have a vision for the future. Their game plan is to preserve the status quo whatever it may be, then lose and then declare the loss a victory. The same people who protested gay marriage are currently Cowgirling Milo's dick. Conservatives stop trying after they lose. Liberals don't. In other words conservatives are always within the liberal frame. They dance to liberal music and play by liberal rules, just not as well. Again I would argue that Christian conser…

This is an unstructured rant made to do nothing but shit stir with your edgy attempts at humor that I'm sure work on bitches, but they don't work on someone who applies any sense of logic. I'll bite and refute your claims. I'm sure you'll mock since you don't really give a shit about anyone's reply unless it says "hey GLB I bought one of your shirts", but that's OK. However today we're taking the Hate Train in the opposite direction and discussing the people who didled themselves awkwardly while…

She knew exactly what she was doing. If you had kept saying "and the other things you're doing" eventually she would have apologized for railing Chad too. And yea like the other reply to this said, crying = manipulation. She wasn't said, she just wanted her emotional tampon back. She was probably calling Chad back an hour later to come over, don't feel bad for her and don't feel like a bad person.

Financial aid isn't a basis on getting accepted to a college, that's the difference. Financial aid on need is "Poor person X was accepted to college based on merit, however they lack the means to pay" while "Rich Person Y was accepted to college based on merit, however they have the means to pay". Far different than affirmative action.
/r/MensRights13/06/17 04:55 AM

I would say affirmative action is institutional racism. It states that certain groups are so bad at X (where X is what they are applying for) that they need a handicap to compete with Caucasian applicants. It also states that white people are less valuable than other races. Mostly limited to college/university applicants, but still valid and still occurring.

If you have Facebook on your phone or run it on your PC without using incognito mode, it will pull information from email/text/etc. You can actually purge that information from Facebook settings, but it's definitely data mining you otherwise. I got annoyed one day when I kept getting co-workers suggested as friends (I separate work and life heavily) and couldn't figure out how it was happening, that was how.

That should show how fucked up the system is. Child support is to help with child expenses, having a place to live is one of those things you have to provide for yourself. If a woman can't provide for herself, how the fuck is she supposed to help provide for children?

I prefer to not base whether I do something or not on whether a woman would do something or not. That's a good way to be a whiny bitch about everything. I prefer to do "would I help this woman if she were a man instead". I wouldn't help a man in the gym move a pin like in OPs situation, so I certainly wouldn't help a woman. Then again a man would have never asked for help with that.

So this kid losing weight, getting in shape, and having fun with a girl who he isn't mistreating and clearly wanted him is tragic? Ok guy. This isn't gloating, it's showing others how he accomplished his goals and it's motivation for those that need it. INTJ here, it is frighteningly accurate. I have a good bit of the work ethic talked about in ISTJ as well, when I was younger in my career I definitely martyr'd myself a few times taking on too much responsibility. Definitely becoming better at social situations as I get older, but I'm still easily frustrated with most people and it's really draining to deal with them at times.

Seeing them stream and do nothing but show off their tits and still get tons of cash disgusts me. Then you see actual competitive players getting less viewers despite actually generating content besides boobs.

Read up on BAS/BAH. BAH is what most young enlisted soldiers are looking for because 1) it's more money for literally no reason beyond being married and 2) you get to live in on-post/off-post housing and not in the barracks. Both of those are pretty powerful incentives for an 18 year old dumbass to get married, especially if he already wasn't getting any pussy and being married might get him some. That sounds sad, but I saw it happen hundreds of times and I'm sure other ex-mil posters have as we…

You make significantly more money (especially when you're lower rank) for being married. A lot of marriages in the military are straight-up for cash, but if you do it and don't protect yourself (pre-nup, separate accounts, no power of attorney, etc) you will get reamed out. I'm going to bet OP gave her a POA while he was deployed and had a joint bank account.

I had the opposite happen, I had a black chick give me some attitude and try to delay me from graduating due to pre-reqs for my curriculum changing over time. I had started school prior to the pre-req changes, however I had military service cause a 2 year break when I was a sophomore. She refused to accept that, so I ended up going up the chain to the Dean of students to get it resolved. Never accept an institution/bureaucracy's first answer for anything, learn the rules/law/whatever of what you…

They're in a huge rush to get married because you can live on or off-post without staying in barracks once you're married as a E4 and below. You also get significantly more money if you're married. There are plenty of people who get married in the military just for that, unfortunately it's a giant trap a lot of the time and young guys end up footing the bill for some young chick to live wild and free with SSg Thundercock instead.

I get #2/#3 badly, I finally tried isotretinoin as an adult and it was like a miracle. Nothing is going to fix nodular/cystic acne except this stuff. I had the usual side effects (very dry skin, lips cracking/peeling) but within a couple of weeks my acne and even my scars cleared up. I have to take it every few years unfortunately, it wasn't a one-time fix like it is for some people.
