Ehhh it's not that uncommon to call your wife "mother". It's just something older dudes that have raised a bunch of kids to adulthood say sometimes. My excellent grandfather calls my grandmother "mother" when he knows he's about to have the final say in an argument or discussion. As in "No, mother, we went to the tractor show LAST weekend. The weekend before last we had brunch with Patty and Larry!"

That's actually pretty interesting - apparently when social security first launched, the idea of carrying around a card that couldn't be easily replaced was so foreign, that people took to tattooing their SSN's on their bodies. Anecdotal, of course, but pretty wild if true.

I see what you're saying. This photo is a matter of historical record. Thomas Cave (and his wife Ann, pictured left) is an unemployed lumber worker in the time shortly after the implementation of the social security system. They live in a shanty town. Most religious texts are chock full with basic, universal truths, and the secrets to understanding why people behave the way they do. Like, heavy primal shit - cosmic archetypes and stuff.
