Gavin Newsom's executive orderI never said they should be voting for R either, but some of those men will be, or they might vote independent. Which means a “hold onto your vote” is them not changing their vote. So asking what is the other party doing is fair game. Now if your suggestion is “don’t vote” then that is just bad advice, the US doesn’t have a system for “not enough people showed up, so it doesn’t count”, a no show is a vote for apathy, and others will decide what happens. So I say voting on the off chance they are… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/08/25 06:18 PM
Gavin Newsom's executive orderjust pandering as thats what political parties do, but i would encourage men on the fence to hold out until they feel democrats truly earned their vote. I understand you put in a “everyone in politics panders”, but why should someone voting R, “hold out until they feel democrats truly earned their vote?”, why not move on at least some progress and hold said panderers accountable instead? | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/08/25 03:09 PM
Gavin Newsom's executive orderIs the other side of the aisle doing anything other than lip service either? | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/08/25 03:00 PM
Dealing with transphobia and targeting despite me making it clear I’m an ally (scroll to see what I’m talking about).I don't think they are going anywhere specific and just walk into any suggested subs. Then complain about the atmosphere, OR are actively looking for a fight (either through active engagement or are just algorithm rage baited). | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 17/04/25 02:26 PM
Society is in a weird place where male progression is expected to be half way, and never on the finish line when it comes to decontructing masculinity and gender roles.Society isn't a monolith so it will inherently be contradictory. Especially as perception shifts over time. I guess point out individual hypocrisy but for society overall "you cannot please them all" is the route you have to go just be a decent person. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 29/03/24 12:02 AM
I'm getting tired of my feminist girlfriendWhen someone comes to the internet & says "what should I do? Maybe a break-up?" It just sounds like you're asking us to give you permission because you don't want to be the one to pull the trigger. That said if you're not just already wanting to break-up, then sit down & write a letter of your concerns & feelings. At the very least it will let her have some self reflection & you can say your peace about how she makes you feel. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 25/02/24 04:56 PM
Tired of everything being "against" womenhttps://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/04/technology/google-gender-pay-gap.html I think I heard it from NPR but here is what Google brought back from 2019 | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 19/02/24 04:54 PM
Tired of everything being "against" womenI think when people are younger they will try to weaponize victimhood. This is either from watching others or just a mechanism for getting by. The easiest thing is to just shoot back how they are not helping themselves with this behavior & then drop them if it doesn't change. A woman gets mad that you "mansplain" their own anatomy, simply state "you seemed to have a lack of knowledge & why wouldn't I try to teach an ADULT about their own anatomy". The pay thing "You can just as easily as me go &… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 16/02/24 05:24 PM
Tired of everything being "against" womenI think Google did a big "let's course correct gender pay gaps" and found on average the women in their company were paid more. Just sharing cause it was funny to me. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 16/02/24 05:15 PM

End of (male) cultural romanticism - now what? From what I saw/remember Ken goes through 1) Ken puts his entire self worth on Barbie noticing him 2) Ken puts his self worth into being the "Top Dog" of the Kens 3) Ken realizes he should stop externalizing his self validation & seek internal validation as he is Ken-ough. The film tells both men & women to not externalize their validation. The problem is it also gets muddled as it criticizes society (the external validation generator) | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 06/01/24 01:16 PM
Venn Diagram of Men's Rights and Anti-Feminism.It's like everyone in those groups really just wants more choice & openness in their societal roles. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 30/11/23 12:10 PM
What's up with Feminists claiming that women are mostly unfazed by muscular men?Might as well be a circle jerk with that logic. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 19/08/23 05:16 PM
So many women seem to have zero idea what the male experience is actually likeOther-ing is a classic human behavior. Want to create & maintain a group, then create an outgroup or an other. That said there are women who do this & men who do this, both should be called on their crap. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 17/03/23 01:37 PM
| -2 | The Double Standards of Body Shaming MenSo, what do you call it when you are only discussing the masculine form of toxic gender norms? | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 08/01/23 12:07 AM |
What happens when you "identify" as your political beliefs?Masculinity is not toxic, but attributes certainly can be misaligned in toxic ways. Which is what 'toxic masculinity' as a comment was originally supposed to be short hand for. Like being stoic is seen as masculine, it just means your not showing or complaining hardship. Healthy masculinity is knowing that you still have to deal with emotion in some way, toxic masculinity is getting the wrong lesson that you just shouldn't have feelings. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 04/11/22 09:00 PM
A bit of my story and why I don't like some commonly given advice. The initial question is 'what is the right time to ask someone out?', after so many rejections you would ask 'Should I wait less or more?' & look back at precious experiences. You end up feeling your way into the 'right amount of time'. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 20/09/22 08:16 PM
A bit of my story and why I don't like some commonly given advice. It can be difficult to figure out the window & probably for every woman it varies. The best you can do is figure out an average. Like an acquaintance but not a dear friend spot, but the internet won't be able to really advice someone on what that 'spot is'. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 20/09/22 06:25 PM
A bit of my story and why I don't like some commonly given advice. If your trying to start a relationship, & sex is at the forefront of your actions & thoughts, instead of the person, then shit isn't going to work out. Context is everything. When getting to know someone sex doesn't matter. When starting to have a relationship & deeper connection then 'sex does matter' but only as a way to be closer to your partner. In reality it is the communication with sex that is important. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 20/09/22 02:07 PM
What can be done to help solve the under/desexualization, sexlessness, loneliness, etc. of so many men?Social pressure, I guess. Women are allowed to be more vulnerable with other women. Men not so much with other men, at least in the same way. Part of the 'toxic masculinity' bit that I kinda agree with is the pressure that Men must be stoic & emotionally reserved. Being tied to that makes it harder to build healthy & emotionally supportive friendships. The inability to be vulnerable is what leads to the feeling of loneliness. When you cannot or do not have the ability to open up about your anxie… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 03/09/22 04:20 AM
What can be done to help solve the under/desexualization, sexlessness, loneliness, etc. of so many men?I am going to interject. Friends, men have a harder time making friends. At least in my experience that is a problem. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 02/09/22 11:15 PM
What do you guys think about this? I definitely think he should have helped, but was it his obligation to help?I think the secret is the were already looking for an out. It is the same reason anyone posts to reddit their relationship troubles for feed back, instead of like just talking to a friend or working it out with the partner. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 26/03/22 04:31 AM
