Imagine the significant contribution to society that porn actors make by creating jobs at the least. How many camera crews, producers, sound people, editors etc are needed to fill that void. It doesn’t even state the 26 were against men. Even if that’s entirely likely, particularly given the majority men hold in parliament. I don’t deny she is actually a misandrist however, just that the 26 comments referred to aren’t specified yet.

Dude misandry = prejudice/contempt against men Those other statements may be unparliamentary language but they certainly don’t fall under misandry. You may even say some of them may be justified, given the character of the individuals she insulted - not what I am disputing here. I have been directed to statements outside of parliament where she is however guilty of such bias.

Its a mensrights sub. While I appreciate some of their movements are based in reason, similar to this sub at times, there is the tendency for hyperbole to make its way into discussion over common sense because it makes things easier.

It’s The Australian. It’s one of the worse offenders regarding journalistic bias over here so it’s kinda expected. I think the fact that this was a cross post from another sub which titled it incorrectly added onto this. However I have been corrected above and am now aware she’s said some dumb, misandrist shit outside of the senate.

I will concede to you. I’m sure there is some context there, perhaps she was talking about the recent assault/murder of a woman walking home alone. However, you can’t excuse such broad statements from men or women and I would certainly classify that as misandrist. I refuse to give Leyonheim a pass for his comment in parliament, however. Thanks for clarifying/digging for me.

He will get away with what he said in parliament as he has parliamentary privilege. I agree with you it isn't the greatest television in the world (after all here in Aus it is shown at a dead slot - 4pm) and I only would watch it after school mostly.
