That's the only way you get the emotional release: operating from the foundation that you won't alter your behavior, and she can get the fuck out any time she likes. I always explicitly communicate to my wife that she is welcome to leave at any time during large arguments. That way neither she nor anyone else can accuse me of "oppression." Nice job OP. You discovered the formula: stand ground until emotional release...then harvest the tingles

You are incorrect. Emotional release doesn't indicate negative feels. It indicates a re-establishment of natural balance. Every couple months my wife starts a little argument over nothing and I know she needs that release. She will escalate over the course of the evening until it comes to a head. Perfect example of a key component to relationship game: the emotional release. OP glossed over it with "she cried". But that was the most important part of the whole post. Hold your ground until you get that release. That's the signal you've won. Women love winners.
