1	The King of Scouts So if you and your father never wasted your time with the movement, why criticize something that never claimed to be a factory for producing people as badass as you? Hunting and gutting deer is not taught in the curriculum. The BSA does focus on outdoor and survival techniques for youth, but most of the stuff you are talking about is barely taught anywhere by any group officially other than being passed on person to person. 0	The King of Scouts The BSA had a sister program called Campfire Girls over 100 years ago, mom's have always been leaders in Cubscouting, and the BSA let girls participate more recently in 1969 in the Exploring and Venturing programs. The new focus is on the family unit, not girls. There are even some people who believe Baden Powell, one of the founders of the BSA, was in fact gay.
