I hate that me too has become people comparing all sexual harrasment to violent rape like what I've been a victim to. Yeah it really sucks and hurts my rapist got away, I'm angry. But don't compare some guy who smacked your ass or looks at your boobs to someone who walked away with rape. They're ruining the seriousness of sexual violence and when I speak up to a friend or someone they compare me immediately to the people who throw it out of proportion.

Most charges are drug related charges and out of those it's over 70 percent weed related. It's pretty racist as well. The whole in depth discussion of the discrimination white men and black men face in prison and how they got there is for another post and better in person. I don't know where you're from but our feminist movement where I live is focused on encouraging pads and tampons for prisoners, mental health access to students whose parents refuse because of their Mormon church(mainly Mormons live here), fixing the things that don't help my gender but make things better for the community and deodorant for the domestic violence shelter. We have a co ed shelter here and no one ever donates fucking deodorant. Men and women need fucking deodorant.

They never release their names, that's illegal. Only if a legal conviction occurs do they have their name as public record. I work in this field, I would know. Also they are not suspended. They actually just can't attend class to prevent retaliation on either side but have their classes online, meal plan still active and have a place to live.

Most plea deals in rape cases are offered when the victim can no longer emotionally handle court but is forcing themselves to. They offer a plea deal in hopes they accept it while the victims gets justice and peace without reliving the rape any longer.

Do you know how many rapist serve less than 10 years? Fucking most. Like I get she deserves the 32 years I think she really does. However, the most recent rape cases in my state have had a 15 day jail sentence and the other was probation.

The DV shelter I intern at will actually replace signs like this. If we see or someone on our Facebook's shows us signs like this in our area we call the store or office and explain why we should provide them with updated signs. They almost always agree and update this. All doctor's offices and states buildings must have a sign with emergency numbers from DV or SV, at least in missouri. So we make sure they're corrected to include male victims, gay and lesbian victims.

Also, my dad's most modest employee has had the most issues with sexual harrasment. Poor lady. She's so shy and sweet. So clothing doesn't cause sexual harrasment but you wouldn't know because you don't work in the field of sexual violence like I do. I work at an open to all gender domestic violence shelter. As rare as false rape allegations are they are very serious. This happened in the UK and they normally are sentenced to 10 years for lying about rape. They also wait to gather more evidence before pressing charges. So they may not have pressed charges yet because they are securing the case. If they don't press charges I hope that's included in his lawsuit, because according to the law she should have been.

I worked at two shelters so far and they house men, they don't advertise it for safety and privacy of male abuse victims. Since women are more likely to know the location all they have to do is ask a friend to find the spouse they abuse. It's for your safety it isn't advertised but if you need a shelter as a man, message me and I will give you answers.

What's sad is actual survivors like me needed something like this movement to help us find support. Instead we have people using it to justify sleeping for jobs. So now when I as a survivor speaks up that I was assaulted, I look as low as the people hiding behind false allegations or misinterpretations of the truth. Toxic masculinity is when men are told they are less of a man because they were abused, raped, don't participate in "manly things" or look too feminine or metrosexual. Missouri shelters either house men or transport you to a shelter that can help you. The shelter I work at houses both men and women. What makes it hard for shelters to house both is space, men and women can't share bedroom space. Some shelters have only a few bedrooms and are full of women. Luckily there are multiple shelters in Missouri that have enough room for men, women and children.

I work at a domestic violence shelter in Missouri and all of our shelters help men, most of them house men as well. If they cannot house a man in need of help they help locate him to the nearest shelter that can help him. I am glad to see domestic violence shelters open up for just men and for both genders.
