Jokes on her. If she is "super pregnant" as the post says, a home test will come up negative. bHCG, the hormone detected, returns to normal levels around the middle of the pregnancy (if medical school memory serves me correctly)

that sucks, and probably also a money-making tool. since you say "the strip," I'll assume Vegas? did you also have to pay like $40 for cover? if you did, that means they can let another guy in for another $40.

MD and read through the article. there are two big confounding factors: women physicians were younger and treated less patients. 1) it could be argued that younger docs should be more in-tune with evidence based medicine, with the assumption being that those docs were closer to their training. in fact, in their methods they mention: to address the possibility that physicians’ age may not fully account for the differences in clinical experience between female and male physicians, we further adjus…

whelp, looks like we can't expect any of these boys to register for the draft, serve our country, and even if they should want, cannot join any branch of the armed forces. lest they be forced to kill a woman suicide bomber or enemy woman soldier.

interesting; you never saw a vaginal delivery on OB/GYN? that seems really excessive. I agree that it should be discouraged in a teaching setting, since as your account indicates, it is such an educational barrier. However, I can't imagine that many women would change their minds, and if some of them were to do that, the exam would end up being extremely uncomfortable for the student and the patient.

you hit it on the head. education lost is the most unfortunate cost of patient comfort, but it's a burden we have to bear in the medical field. while this MensRights issue is brought to the forefront with OB/GYN care, there are instances where women are jilted too. there are still a lot of "old guard" doctors around who don't look kindly on women doctors and would like to keep the nurses under their thumbs. is that harder to deal with? who knows; it's just different. everyone has their challenge…

as a male medical student, this actually doesn't bother me. women are certainly within their rights and comfort asking for a female gynecologist. first and foremost, patient care is about the concerns of the patient, and if a patient is not comfortable, medical care is significantly hindered. on the other hand, i resent the idea that male medical students view gynecological exams less professionally than their female counterparts. trust me... the exam room is a far cry from the bedroom, and some…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
