Might be time for a divorce?Marriage counseling is worth a try. Do 6-8 sessions. Don’t worry about the cost. If you’re willing to fight for each other it’s worth it. If it still doesn’t work out, you can live with yourself that you did what you could - that you fought and did your best. I spent a lot on marriage counseling but didn’t have regrets, although we end up getting a divorce. I actually learned so much about relationships that the next relationship I’m in, not only will the significant other be a lucky girl, but w… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/12/23 06:33 PM
Might be time for a divorce?Have you tried sitting down and talking to her? You didn’t mention anything about having a scheduled “sit-down” and only how you’re feeling. If I were you I’d tell her that there’s something you would like to discuss with her at a certain time and date. Let her know how you have been feeling, ask her how she’s feeling. Don’t play the back and fourth game, have validation and listen. If after the talk you see it’s not going anywhere, then it’s time to move on. The things you mentioned about your … | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/12/23 05:42 PM
My ex-wife is refusing to let me pick up my son. there is also a TPO against me. What do I need to do?She has to abide by the court’s orders or she’s screwed. Mention that she has not been complying at your next court date. Show text message proof. Never communicate over the phone because you can’t record your conversations without consent. Always communicate through text or e-mail. Bait her so that it shows she’s not complying with court orders. Make a demand such as “the court orders of the parenting plan states clearly that I am to get my child on these days. You must comply with the court’s … | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/12/23 03:25 AM
My ex-wife is refusing to let me pick up my son. there is also a TPO against me. What do I need to do?You can state allegations specific month & date of an occurrence that she was being negligent. Any texts or emails should be screen shot and sent to the court. Video evidence should be useful. To give it to you straight depending how petty she wants to go it will cost you a lot more than $5k. I’m $12k into mine, and we’re not even in mediation yet. This should tell you how important and the severity of needing an attorney. I have a son, so I am fighting for custodial rights and a proper parentin… | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/12/23 01:08 AM
My ex-wife is refusing to let me pick up my son. there is also a TPO against me. What do I need to do?She appealed it 3 times. She’s a dead beat mom with a masters degree who refused to work more than 20 hours a week. We were only married 4 years and she wanted $5k/month in alimony and child support which was laughable to the judge, considering you have to be married for 5 years to receive alimony. Her greed was her down fall for it opened up the floodgates of accusing her for weaponizing the system and trying to pin me with a DV so she could receive more money | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/12/23 05:58 PM
My ex-wife is refusing to let me pick up my son. there is also a TPO against me. What do I need to do?It’s in regards to domestic violence and what constitutes as domestic violence. If there was an incident in the past, no statute, and even if there were no police report - court will automatically rule in favor victims allegations until proven otherwise. It’s complete bullshit. My attorney calls it the “fuck all men law.” My atty gave me a 5% chance of fighting all the DV allegations and we won. He was trying to convince me to take the domestic violence, save money, and head to divorce but I ref… | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/12/23 04:02 PM
No explanationYour life is better without her, and will continue to be. No explanation is needed. You should be thanking her. Now you’re in the best shape of your life, probably going to make more money, and discover new freedom or things you can do without feeling bad. I personally have slept with a few women, and it’s exciting. I don’t care to ever be married again. The freedom with financial stability is exhilarating | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/12/23 09:25 AM
My ex-wife is refusing to let me pick up my son. there is also a TPO against me. What do I need to do?TPO is not on your record for ever. Only temporary as it’s in place. I had a restraining order and cops showed up and gave me 10 min to grab my stuff and get out. How the hell are you to grab all your belongings in 10 min without notice? Wait it out. Gather your evidence, make a strong declaration against her rather than just responding to her allegations. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/12/23 09:10 AM
My ex-wife is refusing to let me pick up my son. there is also a TPO against me. What do I need to do?Your situation was just like mine. I missed my son’s birthday, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. You need to hire an attorney. Based on the severity of why there is a PTO in place, you will need to fight whatever allegations there are against you for a PTO to be in place. Do not go near her, do not text or leave voicemails that will be used against you in court to prove her case. She can also extend the PTO or extend a restraining order for up to 1 year. I would highly recommend meeting in public som… | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/12/23 09:07 AM
Wife trying to come back after leaving me for affair partnerI hate to say it but it’s over. Seems like sex is what you’re chasing, but she clearly cheated on you because maybe you weren’t good enough for her. She’s realizing that 1. she’s a dead beat 2. One more year and she has her lotto ticket for being a dead beat and 3. She can’t find another man that can financially support her. Sex to her is just a tool to get what she wants. Infidelity seems to be something I would never want to live with, and rather move on from. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/12/23 07:37 AM
My Desk and ChairAsk for your desk and chair if it has that much sentimental value. There’s no shame in it. You’re at war, and even generals come to truce. I received a lot of valuables that she could’ve added to community property state but she gave them back. Almost $40k worth of my stuff. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/12/23 07:34 AM
I'm not strong enough for thisWhile it’s easier said than done going to gym, exercise, etc., make sure you have background noise at all times when alone. Talk radio (sports radio) or tv in the background even if you’re not watching. The whole cliche “time heal all wounds” is true. It’s time to move on, she already had months ago. Sorry to come off hard but it’s the truth. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/12/23 03:38 PM
Lonely, miss my sonI got this brother. I accomplished so much today for the first time in weeks because I didn’t throw my body onto the couch after a long hard day at work. Whether it’s working out or needing to do chores or other things in my house, couch is a danger zone otherwise I won’t be able to do shit. I’m going to pack a duffle bag now of gym clothes! Thanks for your advice! | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/11/23 04:23 AM
Lonely, miss my sonThanks for sharing your experience. I am leaning towards the gaming to have the escape from reality. It’s healthier than alcohol. You’re never too old to game! We do it cause it helps us and we enjoy it. Stay young at heart. And Spider-Man is definitely on the list of games I want to play. Along with red dead redemption and zombies mode of call of duty. I’m sorry to hear of your loss and experience you’re going through. When I get a game set up I’ll be sure to reach out to you! Feel free to mess… | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/23 06:53 PM
Lonely, miss my sonI’m going to definitely end up getting one. That’s good advice of the heads up not getting obsessed, and I will definitely be considerate and understanding of other people’s schedules. Thanks for the “good luck!” Can’t wait to finally get him overnights | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/23 05:55 PM
Lonely, miss my sonI have a gym membership but it’s hard to get in there. When the parking lot is full and it’s dark and cold with no self-confidence I find it hard to mentally get in there. I use to work out a lot too. I’m going to push myself to get back in there. I could use the extra sleep for I’m only averaging 5 hours of sleep at best per night. Thanks for the advice and it helps to hear outside of friends that I need to get myself back in the gym! | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/23 05:53 PM
