I suppose. But it's interesting to think about. I guess it's best to act in a way that reflects the current market, whether that is dating or economic haha.

What would happen if every guy had this mentality and were all then competing with each other. I guess it would just come down to who's most attractive.

I'm talking about the "abundance" attitude. It wouldn't be true if there was real scarcity so really you would just be fooling yourself to think that way.

This makes sense. I wonder how applicable it actually is to humans? Aren't we more closely related to bonobos?

This is good advice. Thanks! I wonder what would happen if there was way more men than women? The abundance mentality would be much harder to achieve since there would genuinely be scarcity of women. I wonder if all men would become very desperate?

There is definitely outliers to this attraction framework and the economics of it all aren't 100%, but since I've moved to a big city I've noticed how influential and true most dating/ hookup economic ideas are.

That makes sense. I wonder what would happen if there was way less women than men. Men would have even more scarcity of women and a higher desire to get a women, but paradoxically would have to act even more careless and confident. Strange

I guess this is a really good motto! Life can't be perfect I suppose but at least you can make it as good as possible. This could also apply to attractiveness too. If someone is balding maybe they can find a look that fits them or workout heavily to make themselves look manly.

She started talking about how her ex was a bad kisser. I told her to rate how good I was and then we went back to my place. Getting women is not my issue it's that I am thinking to into it. I have the drive to get women but don't see the point.sex is good but I think I get a bigger rush from the powerful feeling that comes from getting something I desire

I was with a chick and asked her a question like this, and her response was just "because that's how it is."

Does that mean you should be happy in your current situation? I think improving is what makes me happy with my current situation

Yeah it was very relevant to this specific post. I'm just feeling a bit down because reality isn't very kind to unattractive people yet I still can't help what I'm attracted to. People always tell us men that we can be unattractive and still get hot girls but the same does not seem to be true for women.

I'm talking about people born with bad symmetry or facial deformities in one way or another. I feel a sense of satisfaction that I am average–above average in looks but it makes me feel shallow knowing I get some happiness from my looks.

This was a good answer. Thanks. I guess most people can at least workout and take care of themselves to appear more attractive.

That may be but as far as I can tell being physically attractive is important.

Have you seen it happen in person? I can't really think of any examples personally. I've seen many below average dudes get girls though.

Thanks for the response! I definitely agree. I kinda feel bad for naturally unattractive women, but I can't help what I am attracted to.

Well celebrities aren't really average people. When they are ugly it's more like a fine aged cheese,

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
