The red pill is the worst way to start off. It's based on a degrading and completely negative view of women, which is something that I think is completely antithetical to what this sub and the ultimate point of pick up is all about. Why tell someone to start off with the red pill when we can just say, read Models, or Above the Game, or a whole bunch of other material that doesn't shit on women.

Introduce him to red-pill like theorems? Are you actually advocating that stuff? Is that what this sub has come to?

I certainly agree that it lacks flow, which is why I think it is the sort of book that is meant to just be leafed through and read haphazardly rather than from front to cover.

Meditations - Marcus Aurelius There's a lot of good stuff in there that is based in stoicism. It's just a collection of thoughts that the man had throughout his life on a whole slew of subjects such as life and death, dealing with obstacles, how to conduct yourself around others, how to live a good life, etc. I go back to it every now and then and read a few pages to get some insight into life. How to Win Friends and Influence People - Dale Carnegie You'll see this recommended pretty much everyw…

Tyler's talk on funny voices to make you recognize the hilarity and absurdity of situations and mindsets is something I still do after several years. I'd still plunk the guys in the older style of pick-up, but that doesn't mean that it's inherently bad.

Like these other guys said, this book isn't a magic pill, but more a map on how to get where you want to go. For me, when I read it, it helped me identify my weak points, my anxieties and insecurities, and the tools that I already had around me that I either didn't realize I had or didn't know how to use effectively. Since then, I've been a lot more successful but, more importantly, a lot happier with myself. I know who I am. I know where I'm going. I'm not finding beautiful and wonderful women …

Learn to be better with names. It reflects poorly on you if you come across as not taking the time to learn something as basic as that A good trick I use because I used to be terrible with names is after they tell you say "Nice to meet you ___". The. The next few sentences you say to them incorporate their name into it. Say something like "So _, what are your thought on the current pro-circuit stack cup teams?" Or "would you rather give up cheese or oral sex, _____?" It gets it into your head an…

This is honestly one of the best posts I've seen here in a while, so thanks a lot for your contribution. Reading through this, I'm wondering if you're a fan of Mark Manson? You both are very big on stressing both being honest, being non-judgemental, and being very open (something you obviously need to be if you're going to be having these sorts of conversations). In any event, thanks for the contribution.

No because I use protection, and even then if I were to get HIV (which is beyond unlikely) it is very treatable in Western society. Roughly 50% of the population carries the herpa-derp by the time they're 50 and only a small percentage of that actually have breakouts. The clap and syphilis are fairly easily treated, and only gonorrhoea is worrisome because there are only two cures left for it because it keeps mutating to beat the others. Bottom line, don't worry about it man. Just wrap it up and…

I'm in the same boat. I've met and opened lots of girls at clubs and bars and I can't think of any one time that I've had a girl ask me to buy her a drink. This raises some questions in my mind. Do girls who do this do it to all guys they meet at the bar, or do they only do it people they initially perceive as being likely to buy them a drink? If it's the latter, then displaying strong body language and the like should help avert this question in the first place and let you just get straight to …

It's lampooning the idea that some larger women have in which they try and qualify their weight by saying that a "real" woman has weight on her, and any woman that doesn't isn't desirable or a "real" woman. Pretty much a "No True Scotsman" fallacy, and them just trying to justify their generally poor health choices and tear down those who make them feel bad inadvertently.

Really depends on where you're from. Canada and Britain allow you to get away with it since the weather is pretty varied. Also, the example given by the OP is great since he shows that he does something interesting that can then be talked about. It doesn't matter what you talk about, more how you talk about it.

Great post Tofu as always, and while I'm sad to see that the book is getting pushed back again, I'm glad to see it's for a good reason and I'm looking forward to seeing how it's all developed. The answers are pretty clear in front of you dude. And please don't take any of what I say the wrong way. You say you're an asshole and that you don't give a fuck about other people but that that is beside the point. The fact of the matter though is that that is very much the point. Great read! Something I noticed however that I haven't often seen before is how you mention that you as the guy should pay for the date. I've seen a lot of people say that you should be careful doing that so you don't end up looking like an ATM to her. Is there a threshold? Do you disagree with that opinion outright?

"In archery we have something of the superior man. When the archer misses the centre of the target, he turns around and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself." It's important to look inwardly first to determine whether failure is something that is your own fault and that you can then work to correct instead of walking around blaming the world for your misfortune. That's not to say that every failure will always be your fault, but it's important to look at yourself first.

if you’re living in a world where there is only one girl you’re focused on and you’re willing to hurt people to get her, you’ve missed the boat. This is a really great line. Goes hand in hand with another great mantra of seduction: "Always leave someone better than when you met them."

Well, I'd suggest having a conversation with your uncle about his views on "over-night guests". You're at university, you're an adult just like he is, you can have a mature conversation about your sex life. Now, if he isn't a fan of girls staying the night or you still aren't comfortable with it, then just be up front and honest with them. Say "I'd love to, but I'm living with my uncle at the moment and he's not to keen about sleepovers, how about we go to your place instead?" Say that in a nice…

Whether you think you're good enough or not, champ, you're right. Like the top post here says, everyone feels like they're not good enough at some point, but in the end you just have to realize that you are, and you had better damn well act like it. In the end, girls are going to like a guy who is comfortable and confident with himself, and if you can't be that then you have to learn to be it.

Imagine that you have the woman that embodies everything that you want in a partner, who you can spend time doing things with and who you can share all of your loves and passions and interests with. What would you be doing if you had her with you? The idea behind it is that you will have serious difficulties finding a girl who can be like that if you aren't already living a life that you would meet a girl like that. For example, I love the theatre. I act, and I love watching others act. I want a…

I think that the term "picking up" is the perfect way to describe this in this context. You aren't going out and "getting a girl", you're going about your awesome, attractive, and fun life that you've created and as you walk through your life you might stop and pick up a girl to figuratively (or literally) walk with you through your life for a bit.

This question pops up every now and again, and it's a very good question. Some people here are in the same boat as you, or don't drink for a myriad of other reasons, and (especially in North America I find) that can make it seem tough to determine where to pick up girls. You think "Well, shit, I can't go to a club/bar/disco if I'm not drinking. It would be weird!" In my own experience, some of my most fun nights have been while I was sober at clubs and bars. It's all about the mindset, having fu…

Proofread and format. If you're asking for advice and expertise, put the effort in to make it look nice and be easier to go over, showing that you actually care about your work and your desire to improve. Simply saying "DONT NAZI ME" makes you sound like a child. When you ask, "is there anything I should have done" it depends on what you wanted out of that night. Did you want to take one of these girls home? Did you just want a one night hook-up? Were you just out there to get a number? What the…

Pretty much. You are not your car, your car is you. A car should be to an extent a reflection of you, just like a bedroom or outfit. A guy who has an expensive car, but let's it get dinged and chipped, keeps it dirty and messy on the inside, and shows a lack of care for it will look worse when a girl sees the car than a guy who drives a Toyota Camry that is always clean and waxed, and smelling good and dust-free on the inside.

Looking at it technically, it's because you're not basing your night around getting the girl which makes you seem desperate and all. You're there having fun with your mates, and chicks dig fun, and if they decide to go talk to you and all, you don't have much riding on that interaction because you're still having fun with your mates, and you're going keep having fun whether the conversation goes to shit or if it gets you into her pants.
