Number of teams by gender relates to the idea of equality of opportunity. There are clearly more opportunities for female athletes than male athletes. Do all the teams have equal numbers of athletes? I am not a Towson student, but from what I have observed at my own college, same sports often do have similar numbers of players. A quick google search show Towson is 40/60 male/female, which under the law means for every $2 spent on men's programs, $3 should be spent on female programs. Though legally they may have been forced to cut the Baseball and Soccer programs, I agree with you that there was most definitely a better way to fix their issues.
