Because I'm not your mother. I also don't dress you in the morning or bake you cookies. Edit: I literally pointed out which parts of the original "quote" were from which authors. To do what you ask I would have had to post those parts of the quote again, separately. That would imply that my audience is irretrievably dense, and completely misses the point of the entire post.

I second the recommendation to do Toastmasters if you're uncomfortable talking in public, but generally speaking, the quickest path to social skills is to just force yourself to be genuinely interested in people and their stories. That alone will get you 90% of the way there.

Thank you for putting into words the obnoxious buzzing I feel when I hit refresh on OKC and see more of the same, then, because of sunk cost fallacy, I end up messaging some girl that's barely passable. We're all better than that.
