Observing your breathing is a method to train yourself to be mindful (more aware). Through this exercise you will become more aware of not just your breathing, but also your thoughts and emotions. So you gain an greater insight into how your function. How dos this help you get up at 6 AM and crush tasks? You will be able to identify the resistance the appears when you try to do these things much easier. You will be able to tell when you are rationalising, or just lying to yourself. You will have…
The ability to notice impulses rising up. It is almost like everything happens in slow motion. For instance in the past I used to get super angry and would react impulsively. I got into many fights because of it. These days when something begins to piss me off I can notice it and stay grounded. That is just one benefit.
You have given me a lot of great insight with your reply, Thanks. Yes I have heard of Samatha meditation, I used to try do it with a internal mantra. ( I wasn't very good). I have never tried any psychedelics but am very interested in trying to attain the mental states through meditation. I will also have to check out Thanissaro Bhikkhu and see what's up with him.
I am personally not a huge fan. I don't think it's bad in moderation, and can be beneficial for certain things as your brain works differently when high. The danger comes when all you do is smoke bongs and you forget about the world.
I understand what you are saying and I am sure most people agree with what you are saying. The real problem arises for many in figuring out methods to overcome the pull of the benign activities.
Very insightful, I actually haven't been to a proper massage therapist before. Lmao yeah jacked back muscle make lying on the floor while high a way more pleasurable experience.
Face pulls are my fav rear delt exercise. I do them while sitting on the floor and pull the rope from the high pully with my legs against the machine. You can overload the fuck out of those rear delts with those! Fix up that fucked up posture.
