How can she still be attracted to him after that?

My question to these women would be if it’s lack of interest in sex or lack of interest in unsatisfactory sex but they still want orgasms. In past relationships as things started to get bad (or they were just not satisfying in bed) the inevitable would happen: less sex and they’d bring it up. The assumption was my libido lowered. Like no, I still masturbated and was very much interested in orgasms. It wasn’t my lack of libido. It was my lack of desire to have unsatisfying sex.

Oh no lol. I’m going to get downvoted for admitting this I think. That’s me and my bf when we started dating last year. I thought I was safe from age gaps cuz I’m over 30.

And there had to have been clues along the way towards marriage. I’m trying to look out for those in my relationship but it’s a fine line to not go looking for things that aren’t there either. Marriage and kids are such a risk. And yet I still want it haha

I dare not look at the advice given cuz I’ll lose it if even just one suggests to communicate. This is common sense that you don’t treat your partner with such blatant disrespect

Definitely some insecurity going on with him. Who talks like this to their SO let alone to the mother of their newborn?

Same. I’ll never forget what one of my dear friends said to me a few days after my ex went to jail for the things he’s done to me. We were at lunch break from school, eating and talking, when he said randomly “I love seeing you smile again” That’s when it dawned on me. I thought I was good at hiding everything but the mental and emotional agony from an abusive relationship manifests itself physically on its own. I saw pictures of me from that time and I had the same dead eyes. It’s horrifying to…

Genuine question: How do we know when an “uneasy feeling” is intuition or anxiety? Sometimes anxiety disorders can cause someone to misread a situation. Many also experience some form of cognitive distortion. I’ve read some articles online but it’d be great if a psychiatrist or expert can be specific as to dating in this era.

Well now I don’t feel that special when my exes have done this to me in the past knowing other men do this for you all as well! /s I’m sure you already know this but stay far away from this man. And any young woman lurkers, this is not a grand romantic gesture. The need for immediate communication they all try to convey when you go no contact is also a lie.

I was only able to see part of the removed comment via my email but I wanted to add that yea! It’s not only men who try to defame this sub. So many women too. But I rarely see, either in that same comment or thread, women (or men) call out the plethora of dangerous blatant misogynistic subs. It’s wild stuff. It took me a while to realize that the reason why I couldn’t see some subreddits (ones I’ve never visited or even heard of before) that were linked was because I was already banned lol.

Why is this sub constantly called out on others when there are literally and legitimately sexist/misogynistic/pure woman hating subs that spread dangerous misinformation about women all over Reddit? I don’t get it.

Ooof. I got “shirted” in high school once. That’s when you have to trade in whatever you were wearing with some oversized plain T-shirt. Reason why I was shirted? Because it being start of summer in Southern California I had a tank top on for when I had to walk home with a heavy ass backpack after school in the blazing sun. But I made sure to wear a jacket while at school (sweating my boobies off). Anyway, I was excused to go to the bathroom during class one day and I took my jacket off for a se…

I don’t have a tiktok account but have been exposed to it’s videos via Instagram. Some funny ones have come from it yes, but.. It seems to be inundated with underage girls dancing half naked suggestively. Especially during the summer, many were wearing bikinis. Even at my age now (early 30s) I was starting to ask this to myself last April when I decided to start dating again. The two men I decided to actually give more energy to weren’t sexual at all. And conversation flowed with both of them easily. The one I ended up with, it took me so long to believe that he was in to me because he never has asked for nudes or turned the conversation sexual. It’s really messed up. When I confessed this to him he felt bad for me and women in general. And also for me…

I agree. The concept of a wall existing can be summarized to mean that after a certain age a woman’s value is gone because her looks are gone. By pointing out women after 25 “still looks good” it’s not fully doing away with the misguided notion of a wall existing. As another comment mentioned, we know women can and do look good after a certain age. We don’t need to prove it anymore. Those who believe it won’t be swayed by a picture. Instead, the focus needs to be shifted. We’re playing in to the…

Yes to all 7 points (minus condom, stupid I know but that’s a different story). Isn’t it sad that these very basics are the rarity now??? Before my bf and I had sex he was open with his fear of him being “too vanilla” for me. Honestly, that scared me a bit. But now, man what was I thinking? I got so used to sex in a certain way I forgot how it should be. He reminds me of my first (and only) love. It’s nice

I did enjoy The Queens Gambit but I was a little taken out of the show a few times because it completely glossed over any sexism she most definitely would have encountered in that era and in that arena. The other female characters were not so great as well. But overall it was a good show and I also recommend it.

Omg imagine the response if she had put that as her reason for wanting to travel!!! 😂 they’d go even more nuts. Meanwhile, I’ve seen several posts by male OPs asking what country/cities has the best looking women (oh so subtle) or flat out for the easiest place to get laid. All comments with recommendations, no chastising. It’s the double standards for me. If I could get paid for every time I see one, I’d be a competitor of Bezos.

Damn, I’m so excited for her!!! Maybe a tad jealous too. Even if in a relationship, this is a great thing to desire and set out to accomplish. I don’t understand why those men assume she’ll be lonely and miserable on her journey. With life having so many good things to offer, a fulfilling relationship (if that’s what one wants) is but a fraction of life’s happiness. I also know a handful of people who met their SO while traveling solo. But that’s just a side-note.

Haha I had the same reaction: Yes, travel together I like it. No kids yet??? Even better. Wait...with a friend of 6 months and without her? Hmmm. Oh shitttttt...sleep with other women??? Ok girl has got to go. He feels like he missed out on experiences ummm when did they get together at like 16? Oh they got together in his early 30s. Boy byeeeee

This is one big fear of mine when thinking of having kids. One thing I’m looking out for when ever I’m with a man is how does he treat me when I’m sick, not feeling well, or even simply just tired. Because if he can’t even be caring then, you know he won’t step up once you’re pregnant.

What a joke. Exclusive means together. It’s painfully obvious on its face what he means. When my current boyfriend brought up exclusivity after 2 months of dating I made him expressly define it. As in, what it means he expects of me and of himself.

I’m so glad others see it too. I get super annoyed when I see those “Hims” commercials or that one about weird shaped erections because I automatically think about the female equivalent and how rude, damaging, and sexist those are compared. We need more women in advertising.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/12/20 10:35 PM

Yikes! I’m hoping that won’t be the case. I asked him about what he watches to get an idea of what he’s in to (this was way before we started having sex) and that’s when he told me. I took it with a grain of salt and decided to see how he acts and reacts to certain things as time goes on. We’ve only been dating for 7 months, the vetting process is nowhere near done.

When I met my current boyfriend a few months in he stated he doesn’t watch porn. Being skeptical, naturally, I’ve tried to test this. I’ve recently come to the conclusion it’s very much true and Damn is it so refreshing and makes sex less of a performance. I have my insecurities still but with him they aren’t as heightened. I attribute that a lot due to his none porn usage. I used to think I had to be ok with a man watching porn so much but that way of thinking was doing myself such a huge disse…

Which is precisely why men made laws and established societal norms ensuring women needed men in order to survive. Now that it’s slowly becoming more of a choice to be with a man, in many parts of the world, they see who needs who.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/12/20 03:49 AM
45

That. And I think it has some part to do with that they then have to acknowledge they also should/could put in effort to look better. If it’s “just the way things are naturally” for women to look good and men not, it’s easily used as an excuse to put in no effort.

I’m going to piggyback off your post and inject a pet peeve of mine when it comes to MeN bEiNg MoRe ViSuAl....women get completely put down by those very men for caring about our looks or being into anything that’ll enhance it (makeup, shopping, working out, skincare). AARRGGHH. It’s wild

Exactly. I had an ex forget my bday last year. I was so hurt but also not surprised from being hurt like that from him. The next day I mentioned it. Instead of apologizing he got defensive and tried to argue why I’m wrong for being upset (he claimed cuz he had so much going on...blah blah blah). We were dating for 2.5 years at that point!!! No excuses. It shows how much someone cares. And with him trying to argue with me on why I was upset was the nail in the coffin.

There doesn’t need to be “take care of him” posts because there are literally published books and articles on how to be a so-called proper wife ever since liked a century ago. She can get out of here with her total nonsense. Starting from a young age, girls are trained to be caretakers. Not so much for their male counterparts.

Exhibit A of why a man in his 30s would be interested in a woman in her early 20s. In a few years chances are she wouldn’t even question her feelings on this matter. Sorry for anyone who’s reading that and feels personally attacked but it’s true. I’ve met/dated these guys at her age, and let me tell you, hindsight sure is 20/20. I’m 31 now. Women are naturally the better looking sex to begin with. So it’s more noticeable when women “become less attractive” compared to a person who is ugly their whole lives. Harsh but it’s how I feel.

As if men are shy about how a woman should look or act. As if they were shy for centuries. As if they were shy yesterday. Spare me, Pickme. Women have been told our entire lives how to act or not act, think, what to like, what to wear, to appease and get a man. What do men like is the subject of men’s magazines and women’s magazines (read: all of media).

You should look in to the rights, or lack thereof, women had. If you’re told you can’t go to school, can’t work for yourself, only purpose in life is to get married and have kids, and the only way to achieve that is through your looks, of course you’re going to focus on that. And while in most parts of the world women are becoming more equal, residual affects of centuries of oppression resides. In America, for example, women did not have the right to get a credit card until very, very recently (…

“Future fakes” that’s a neat little term to explain so much. I am very much like you when it comes to travel. So with my last ex, this was one of my biggest issues. Always thought planning never any concrete planning. I mean, we had other major issues but even if other parts were perfect I want someone I can share travel with. I make that very clear from day 1. That first text alone gets me upset. I hate guys who immediately demand selfies. Especially ones who are specific with the kind they want. Immediate turn off. Yea, their view is so warped. It’s backwards. So by their logic a woman has to list out everything she doesn’t want, and hopefully she knows everything she doesn’t want! but the person wanting to do something to someone else doesn’t have to ask for permission. This is why “no means no” is so fundamentally flawed and “yes means yes” must be the phrase.

Him thinking that all women have to be is attractive is telling. I drop guys immediately when they make it apparent how solely focused they are on my looks. I have that and more to offer. I’d like someone who looks good to me as well but also whom I get along with. I come to dates prepared to discuss almost anything and everything. I’m trying to find my life partner. Same! “X’d” someone just now who’s first bit of information he chose to give was under how to get to like him and was a simple “be kinky” but then goes on to state in the other questions he wants a confident woman, one who challenges him because he loves when people teach him things. 😂 NEXT Thankfully most men I’ve matched with are very polite and even though many I’ve already lost interest in within a few messages, no nasty replies. That’s the odd thing, I wasn’t. I came from a very loving home. But I had low-self esteem and to some degree I still do. I can have a thousand guys after me but I still felt ugly. I’ve slowly come to accept that I am actually as beautiful as I’ve been told I am. But a couple of exes have used my insecurities against me. Sadly, that worked on me. As for pickmeisha, a little of those tendencies existed. But I always, since I was in middle school, butted heads with what I later found out was libera…

Totally agree with you. These men definitely have this delusion of grandeur. And yes, maybe my first point came across as insensitive. I was in an abusive relationship and I went to therapy after where I first learned about co-dependency. All the points you made are spot on. Are you a psychiatrist by chance? It’s ok if you don’t feel comfortable sharing. It’s always interesting to know though. I wish we were a more closed group because I’d love to know all of our backgrounds

Well, it seems to be true on some scale. Just look at any dating advice subreddit where people stay with total crap men and are begging to be told it’s ok to stay. That being said, this article and others similar act as if it’s innate in women when it’s actually a patriarchal society construct.

I have found the following to be true: no matter what boundaries or standards you set for yourself, there will always be a contrarian to try to impose their views. Change your standards to meet theirs, now you have another coming in to make you change it back. You do you. In the end, you have to live with yourself. And being happy is a great place to live in.

He’s clearly only using her for sex. She’s young, I was stupid at that age too. He’s a lot older considering she can’t even legally drink yet. Ditto on the WoW dedication. I had to quit when I had to take college more seriously. You know who won’t waste his time, a prostitute since that’s all he was looking for then (obviously not condoning paying for sex, just using it to make a point). Anytime a guy says a woman wasted his time in this situation I always think “nah dude you wasted your time. Interesting question and insight. Im not really sure. The only way I could analyze that is by comparing how my brunette and raven haired girl friends are approached. I had one gorgeous Persian friend who was often approached but the men didn’t seem especially aggressive. That being said, my stories of how dates or strange men at a bar acted towards me would usually shock my friends (I’m the only blonde in my close circle of friends). I’m a part of FDS so I’m hoping I can chime in here. I do not agree with equating TRP with FDS. We’re not as extreme nor do we reduce men to a shallow standard (like how they do to us with age and looks) and claim a whole gender is useless once they’re over 25 or not a Virgin. I understand some posts can come across as that and in any group you get the extremists. I’ve also noticed they’re the ones to end up being quite insulting towards my body and looks as well as abusive or borderline abusive. The biggest lie libfem told me is hookup culture is empowering and necessary. I’m still salty over it. I try not to have regrets but man it’s tough to not look back at my early 20s and be upset and sad at myself. Doesn’t help that it’s only getting worse for women entering their 20s now. I recently started OLD again since I like to get to know someone a little before meeting up anyway so since we’re all forced to do that right now I thought it would be perfect timing. Old tired joke by now. And it used to be found in women’s profiles. Related note: has anyone else noticed a funny tweet authored by a woman that doesn’t get too much traction but later see it co-opted by a man (or men) that gets many more like and reposts? I’ve noticed this so often. I’ll see a woman write something funny and a couple weeks later I see it verbatim on a man’s tweet or FB status, no credit given of course. But women aren’t funny!

I never understood the need to preach certain intimate agreements spouses make between one another as a means to disperse unsolicited advice. No one asked her. If she’s cool with this objectification, whatever. But I guarantee her that those in a dead bedrooms will not solve their issues with her ways. Dead bedrooms stem from partners not liking each other in some ways, being forced to have sex with your partner whenever they want it is not going to solve the problem. In fact, it could exacerbat…

Yup! Literally begin to search for anything and you’ll see at least half your options will be porn. I was looking up subreddits beginning with “snow” and “pink” and “thin” and before I finished my words the options shown were mainly nsfw ones. And extremely nsfw. Reddit is at the very least 59% porn content.

Every single guy I’ve ever dated, from high value to low value, has always paid. Even when I offer to split they looked either offended or laughed it off and said absolutely not. No guy friend I know has ever lamented over paying. They want to show they can take care of you. Most men acknowledged that “she took the time to do her hair and makeup for me, I don’t want her to stress over paying”. Also, I’ve been told if a woman pays or splits the bill they take it as she’s not interested. While I w…

I started smiling again. I didn’t even know how bad it got. After my ex was officially locked away in prison, I was having lunch with one of my very good friends who was there with me since the start of the abusive relationship. You know, this will actually be the likely outcome if they stay together. The men who watch porn don’t see the actresses as women since they’re only doing sexual acts. They’re fulfilling a sexual need but nothing else. So thats how they’ll be viewed as. This will seep out in to real life. And the more he’ll watch, the more he’ll see women as objects only. Including his gf. Men addicted to porn have stated this. And it took them a long time to get over that feeling. She’s so cool for contributing…

Yea I like how she clumped the tripe advice of “communication is key” and trust in a relationship overrides porn usage issues. Uh, no. She’s telling women who don’t like porn are insecure. Ok, well if I communicate, per her oh so novel advice, to my partner how it makes me feel, present all the scientific evidence of what porn does to the brain, but he still watches it then we don’t have a communication problem at all. So it’s not the key then is it? Most men know how women will view them watchi…

If she were really brave she’d post this to pornfreerelationship. She wanted male validation and hearing how awesome she is. And fuck yea it makes me insecure. I hated the social acceptance of strip clubs, sex workers, the way women were portrayed in media, unnecessary female nudity all around me. But no, I wasn’t a true feminist if I spoke out. I saw sexual liberation differently. But I was young and participated in shitty hookup culture. I was empowered! Woohoo. Yea no. Most men are shitty in bed anyway, never worth it.

I don’t know if I talk shit but I definitely hold a lot of regret for my past decisions during my Pick-Me days. Thankfully, these regrets only come in short bursts and then recede. “Cinema dates” after you vibe? Lol, that’s the lowest effort. Also, that’s ok in high school not as adults when you’re trying to get to know someone. Otherwise it’s really faux quality time. Oh I do not miss OLD. Received so many of these questions and stupid me would respond with my sexual preferences. I shudder at my past self.

I agree. The painting has an unfortunate title: The Cursed Woman. Would make for a great college paper though.

Yea, saw that question too. At the time it only had like 3 comments but I kept scrolling. Didn’t need to read their gross responses.

I arrived at the same conclusion. If he loves her like he says then he needs to let her go to find someone who wouldn’t have even began looking at porn while with her. We women deserve better.

Since social distancing has started, Askmen is littered with LVM questions too. Every other post is about porn or masturbation. Two I saw right before I made this comment were “what favorite porn will you be revisiting” and something along the lines of where they have not had their cum in their house. Stupid.

She’s living one of my nightmares. Honestly, I constantly see men say that marriage is so bad for men. Like what? “Dead Bedroom”? From what I’ve seen women get the short end of the stick. Oh, and studies back that up.

Absolutely not. It shows his moral compass points to ethically bankrupt. He thinks it’s ok to purchase another human being.

Lol. My first thought when I heard restaurants will be closing is how single LVMs are about to have a rough time. Every woman I know, knows the basics of cooking. Many men I know do not. They expect women to be able to cook gourmet meals for their men to be valued, but at least we can cook for ourselves during this social distancing.

All this showed to me is that the supply for HVM is low. People for the most part have a desire to couple up. So by him pointing out how many women end up with LVM despite desiring an HVM it points to scarce pickings for women.

I saw the massive inequality at that age but it didn’t really hit that this is the average heterosexual marriage until I rewatched it when older. One of the reasons why I’m scared of getting married.

I never understood these types of posts. If something like this makes you feel uncomfortable or is making you unhappy, freaking leave the relationship! What does it matter how strangers on the internet feel about your relationship.

Thank you 😊 everyone is so welcoming on this sub and ones similar, it’s been beautiful. And while sometimes the topic can be depressing, the sense of community and feeling finally I’m not a bad feminist has really lifted my spirits nonetheless.

I used to be one of those “oh I don’t care if he watches porn, teehee. I do too. Look how cool I am” idiots. I want to slap my past self. The men I’ve slept with who were against porn or who saw no need for it were way better in bed. More attentive and caring about how I felt. The others? I felt like a sex doll that was performative. And I thought I had to enjoy this. Omg I’m so glad I came across this subreddit and it’s sister subreddits. I realized I am a feminist, just not a libfem whom I’ve …

Yes! I had an (abusive) ex who would try to “slut-shame” me if I ever initiated or tried to talk about our sex life. It was very bad. Always on his terms, never for my pleasure, and sometimes not very consensual. But he’d bring up often how I don’t show affection 🙄 so since then I don’t initiate anything in person. I may text my bf any desire I’m feeling but that’s it.

The “about” section for this Facebook group has grammatical errors, that alone should deter any male serious about improving. Second, it’s a group to get “more out of life” but it’s main focus, explicitly stated, is dating more women. And not even getting more dates to open their pool of potential mate. Just more dates. In a Word: sad.

I have one like this too! I used to think he was very witty and clever. Then I started to go on Instagram and Reddit more so I saw the original funny tweets before his Facebook status. There are a lot of things that bother me, taking credit when it’s not due is definitely on the top of my annoying list.

So embarrassing. I always cringe when someone (noticed it’s always males) steals someone else’s tweet or something and pass it off as their own wit.

Well, ok. I suppose I have forgotten what it was like to be a pickmeisha. I have to remember I was once upon a time like these women who stayed past a relationship’s expiration date. Ugh, I still feel so gross giving this abusive LVM my body and time who only made me feel like crap. I should have more sympathy for these women who are seeking help.

This is very weird to me. It’s not like I’ve dated only winners, but absolutely every single one has always paid for everything. Even if I offered, they were appreciative but made it very clear they would see it as an insult if they weren’t allowed to pay.

I bet you the other woman didn’t say that she expected her husband to “never game” again but instead was just lamenting that her LVM of a husband chose games over helping with his newborn child.

I used to think this way. That I don’t care if who I am with watches porn. After all, I did too. I never thought those who didn’t like their SO watching were insecure, everyone is entitled to their boundaries. But that all changed until this sub and learning about porn sick (that’s the term right?). The issue isn’t someone finding another person attractive (people can find multiple people sexy, even while in a relationship). The issue comes from the side effects of watching porn. I quit cold tur…

I tried to post a screenshot (never went through, maybe not enough karma points) last night of someone’s advice to a woman who was having insecurity issues with her BF watching porn. She was young and the best advice would have been to help her set her boundaries. But his advice? To watch it with her BF. That’s wHaT hIs gIrLfRiENd dId. Like...wth??? She clearly stated she was not comfortable with it but she should get over it by watching it with him 😂

Is that the culprit? Because I couldn’t figure out why he thought this headless pic of a mediocre (sorry, but it is) body is enticing to potential matches.

That’s the only way it worked for me. Not even my own mother could tell me otherwise. Sad part is, there were quite a few of them. The best part was, the relationship that had me at rock bottom, deep down I knew from the beginning I was with an LVM. She knows this too, hence the “save me from hell.”
