How did you kick her out? You owned your house outright?

What a story. Glad you beat a tough cancer and she saw her comeuppance.

It's severe depression and burnout. Do *not* do anything harmful to yourself. This *will* pass. Take extra good care of yourself. Tell yourself it's OK to feel like absolute shit, for a while, a few months, maybe a little longer. Your body keeps the score so if you take care of it, your sleep will improve, then your mood. Force yourself to do things. Don't think you have to fix your head before you act. Do things when you don't feel like it and the feelings and thoughts will follow. You got this…

1) A huge part of the problem---and I'm responding quickly w/o reading the replies below---is that as Deborah Tannen famously documented, men and women really do speak very different languages about most topics. How that shakes out is that women THINK they have been crystal clear to men, but they have not. Men didn't hear it as a clear message. 2) There's a really negative thread in your post that doesn't look good for women. That is this: Men are responsible for women's unhappiness. Dunno---70%…

At least equally. observational and statistical research on men post-divorce supports that overall we men do better romantically and financially (less so emotionally at least in the short term) than women. Poor emotional and relational effects are mitigated for men who already did a good amount of childcare (better foundation to continue relationship with kids through family breakup) and housework (less of an adjustment if living solo, positive for a new relationship). Women delude themselves mo…

Were it that simple. I say, have solid values, make the best choices you can aligned with those values. You can make an excellent choice at one moment in time that winds up being a poor one because the other person either changed, or revealed what they were hiding very well about themselves. The OP's point I think is that, men assume (their) ladies have solid values, when they often times do not. Part of that is the culture, too, that imagines women as being overall morally better than men---whi…

I think I've already shut you up adequately from my previous reply.

Who asked you? Divorce is horrific. Grow up. You get through it like a man and follow your priorities to the other side. Even if I were a multimillionaire, I wouldn't leave my kids unless a judge told me to. Doesn't sound like your priorities. We've gotten this message from you many times over now.

If you value living with your children, basically above everything else, and you want leverage in the middle of the divorce process, I've been getting the message that staying is the best option. Believe me, I've been in the house for almost two years after my wife said she wanted to separate, and a year after she filed for divorce. It's torture to live with a woman you now hate, and who is putting you and your children through hell, for no clearly good reason. But... My lawyer told me point bla…

100%!!!! I have been realizing this recently. She has resented making more money than me, the kids connecting with me on a deep level, my community service, having a really fun hobby, I could go on. This is a great comment. Hearing this from another dude really brings another level of clarity. Damn! Thanks brother.

"My relationship with my wife wasn’t even that great and yet i still miss that too." Read through all the posts here, and saw this and feel it. At the beginning myself, still in denial, still at the house. Every day is a mindfcuk. Let me share some ideas. You sound depressed. Totally understandable. Try anti-depressants. I've been on them before (may have to go on them again). They help a lot. One side effect I didn't like though was irritability, but everyone's different. You say you're not rea…

43 is relatively young and by almost no one's definition too young to change careers....

I am in the middle of this, and need to make a decision immediately. The letter of the PA law is draconian, but application may not be as much.

“recording is done openly”= meaning ? I hear you re false DV charges, but in PA where I live, recorded consent is required, and it’s a third degree felony w max sentence of 7 years in prison

My understanding is that in some states there are wiretap laws that make non-consensual recordings illegal.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
