| 1 | Prison Rape, Only a problem when it happens to Women?I dunno, I understand your point but I feel that the writer used the specific prison as an example and then used it as a springboard into the national argument which was really the natural progression of the article. Sure it could have touched on male rape but it's pointing out that the prison guards, the ones in a position of power are abusing that power. It sepcifically mentions children and child all of the time apart from two examples which happen to be girls. Now the reason for the Rochdale example is because it was a massiv thing here in the UK and well known. As for including another example of a girl, it may just have been easier for the reporter to use those facts as they were more readily available.
