Erm.. IF OP isn't lying our if her ass, then I don't see what she did was illegal. There was no sexual activity, according to her story.

You know, the feminists on 2xC use these exact arguments for themselves. When the context is removed from you, it's easy to consider others evil.

You know nothing about India. It's that simple.

A man was dragged out of a police station and lynched by a mob because a girl claimed he raped her. Turns out, she was lying. One dead guy, girl learns a lesson about how powerful she is. So, please come over and experience it yourself.

They own The Verge - the site that started the offensive shirt witchunt against ESA's Matt Taylor. When people pointed out in the comments that attacking people for their clothes and gender is sexism, they gave the sexism = power+privilege response. They have got so many biases, its not even funny - they hate men, they hate Android, and they hate gamers. Who do they love? Zoe Quinn.

You translated the analogy pretty badly, and I did not feel like arguing. My analogy does translate. Bread does not go on TV to claim anything about itself. Bread does not say anything about itself, other people do. Scientists following a rigorously defined set of criteria call it a carbohydrate, so it is one. North Korea does say a lot of things about itself, including that it is a democracy. Political scientists following a rigorous set of criteria have decided it does not match the characteri…

Nobody told you? What someone says and what someone does are entirely different. North korea says its defining factor is democracy. That doesn't mean they are democratic. Feminists say their defining factor is equality. That doesn't make them pro equality.

No, feminists are going to be citing this for years to make even more stringent laws. Then the stats will become 1 in 2 and even more men will go to jail for 'sexual assault' when they talk to a girl without consent.

Its a rather prosperous one too. A standard tactic for a woman in a court case against a man (any dispute: land, money, rent or divorce) is to file molestation charges. Rape cases depend on the victims testimony- in a purely he said, she said case, the 'she said' side has to be believed, by law. An arrest on record screws up your career, so the guy usually pays up.

This is more of a police issue than anything else. Police would probably just beat up a guy who does this in a police station and let him off.

Here is a short explanation I had posted on a previous version of the story. Delhi girl, Jasleen Kaur, posted a photo of a guy on a bike saying he harassed her at a traffic stop ( and if he harasses her today, he might rape someone tomorrow. Her words), and challenged her to do what she could. She filed charges for molestation and managed to go viral on twitter and Facebook India. The guy got arrested and lost his job. By the time he came out on bail, some witnesses had emerged claiming that Jas…

I remember a post on here with someone saying 'A group's intelligence is directly proportional to the number of women it has'. I mean, how do they even arrive at conclusions like that?
/r/MensRights11/09/15 05:29 AM

It won't happen. The decision will be in the hands of a college tribunal, and what tribunal will convict a woman? Firstly, they will be composed mainly of feminists, and secondly, it will be considered misogyny if they even call a woman for testimony.

Look, male suicide is a terrible problem, but this comparison is disingenuous at best. There are about 2 million whales left in the world. If 800000 of them washed up dead, we would be worried. 40% of a group of species dying is not something to be scoffed at.

Are you nuts? You have no idea what you are talking about. The Hindu hates the Indian government. They believe that India would be better off under a communist leadership. Yes, communist, as in the Soviet kind. India today isn't that far, but has no love for the government either.

That's a terrible argument. You ask for stats, when you get them, you say you don't believe them. Considering their current attitude towards rape What current attitude? The one where people are kidnapped from police stations and lynched on streets on the basis of charges that were later proven false? The one where you go to jail if you break up with your girlfriend, and she feels like destroying your life with zero evidence? Keep in mind those cases are proven to be false. Among the ones not pro…

India has a rampant false rape problem too. 53℅ of the cases registered in Delhi were provably false, last year. The number was around 75℅ a few years ago. Provably false as in, woman lying to get revenge, woman's parents accusing guy of kidnapping their daughter and marrying her (and the woman refuses to defend the guy she eloped with), women filing charges for extortion, and the biggie: charges for not marrying your girlfriend. Seriously, there is a impression that India is a country of rapist…

No its actually not a crime. The supreme court and most high courts consistently exenorate guys who have been implicated on these charges. However, lower courts more often sympathise with the woman. The fundamental principle is whether consent was obtained on the basis of a lie. If the guy promises marriage, but has no intention of marrying the girl, only then it is a crime. If the guy promises and intends marriage, but later changes his mind for a reason such as ' the girl is crazy enough to fi…

Actually, the hindu is one of the most respected newspapers in India, known for very good quality writing. Also, false rapes are a serious problem in India. They are just as prevalent as actual rapes. Fake rape, dowry, molestation, domestic abuse cases are used as a tool of extortion in India. Dude, equality? Check out the divorce, rape, dowry laws. If you are accused of molestation/harassment, you are going to have to fight court cases for a decade on your expense. For heavens sake, breaking up with someone after having sex with them is considered rape.

Piku is supposed to be comedy. It's literally a movie about constipation, so don't expect high standards. It also fits in with Deepika Padukone's whole 'It's my choice to cheat, you can't judge me' branding. Secondly, Indian men will be prosecuted? Try getting a divorce, when your whole family ends up in jail over 498A, you will figure out who is prosecuted and who is not. Recently, some woman kept filing false charges against her husband, who eventually committed suicide. The woman did not face…

The part of the comment that is the most obvious is the one that says ' The means justify the ends' .If a few innocent men go to jail, it is worth it because they have helped reduce campus rape epidemic. The problem is, the campus rape epidemic does not exist. Innocent people, men or women, shouldn't be jailed. If you deny that, you deny a founding principle of democratic civilisation. Lying. The country is in transition. There are a bunch of people with near medieval ideas sparring with people who are ultra-liberal. There are crazy, illogical statements from both sides. But, on the whole the country is a whole lot better than it was even 10 years ago.

That's what OP asks for, you know. The rapist basically said 'she deserved to be raped because of her clothes'. It is bullshit, but a lot of people feel that way. It might be a different scenario in the US, but in India, if a girl walks into a police station to file a molestation/eve-teasing/groping complaint the first questions usually are about clothes.

There are unverified reports that claim that the girl had demanded a sum of 2 lakh rupees from the accused. When the accused didn't pay, she filed a rape case against him. There was no actual rape, and the accused and victim were in a relationship that turned sour. This is on the front page of /r/india right now. https://i.imgur.com/vusNYxd.png

Here is the actual bill: http://www.prsindia.org/uploads/media/Marriage%20Laws/Marriage%20Laws%20Bill%20as%20passed%20by%20RS.pdf Where the wife is the respondent to a petition for the dissolution of marriage by a decree of divorce under section 13C, she may oppose the grant of a decree on the ground that the dissolution of the marriage will result in grave financial hardship to her and that it would in all the circumstances, be wrong to dissolve the marriage. Here is what a feminist friend of mine has to say on facebook: How can you blame feminism for that? They used violence to achieve their wish, violence-being an exercise of power in the patriarchal society to achieve one's motives by virtue of their position or physical strength or social status. I wouldn't call it feminism because feminism condemns violence and relates it with patriarchal masochism. Now, we should surely condemn the actions of media because the boys lost their jobs not because t…

This is a great example of the self defeating nature of feminism. On one side, feminists claim that women are independent, powerful and do not need the approval of anyone. On the other side, you have this article claiming 'Women don't join STEM fields because of attitudes like this.' This basically claims that women are so fragile that they would reject a field they want to work on because someone wore a shirt 'objectifying' women. Honestly, if someone wears a unprofessional T-shirt to any event…
