Do you have a source for that? I would love a little to no cost sterilization.

I agree no one should be forced to get a surgery they don't want, but I'm kind of shocked at the comments here remarking about how these men would be hugely offended if their wives wished they would get a vasectomy or even asked them to. Yes, vasectomies are serious medical treatments with real risks and side effects, but so is every method of BC that society expects women to make use of. You don't owe your partner, but I don't think it's unreasonable to wish or ask your partner to make a sacrif…

I noticed this too. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't say that I agree with her necessarily, but it's ridiculous to not consider that India is at a totally different stage of gender equality.

Yeah, I don't understand her blaming feminism for making women childless or looking down on women having children. There are a lot of "extreme" feminist views that are actually pretty common, but rejection of motherhood is actually pretty rare among feminists.

I think the idea is to have the positive pregnancy test, so the guy says, fuck it, no condoms needs since she's already pregnant and then actually get pregnant.

See, I think the point isn't really fault. A rape victim cannot be responsible for their rape. The rapist is. Blaming victims of rape for wearing slutty clothes or something is a good thing to be against. However, the problem arises when ways to avoid rape become considered a moral responsibility or, the complete opposite, victim blaming. Basically, if someone attacks you when you walk by yourself down an ally at 4 am, you shouldn't feel that you are at fault, but people should still be encourag…

I was banned from r/feminism with no explanation, so I messaged the mods asking for how to not be banned in the future. Never got a response. It was super frustrating. What I said was upvoted and other people were expressing the same opinion. It wasn't even anti feminist. When I went to look at the thread, a whole bunch of comments had been deleted. I can only assume they were banned as well. The amount of censorship is insane. Some censorship is almost to he expected, but on r/feminism it is ou…

I am so sorry for what happened to your sister. That is despicable what the school and her rapist did. I also in no way mean to be rude here, I am only confused by these situations. Did your sister go to the police when she was raped? If so, how can the school deny that it happened? Shouldn't your sister be able to sue them?

While I agree with your argument that the cover is technically 'wrong,' it doesn't mean that it is something to be upset about. Pick your battles. Be upset that the pamphlets explicitly states that they won't address violence against men. It's more worth your time/effort and you're less likely to come off as over-sensitive.

I think this sub needs to have some sort of rule put in place about misleading titles. They have been getting bad lately.

Look, women have no part in the action of sex. We are complete bystanders. (... I'm being sarcastic, to be clear.)

Sexual acts are performed on women. They cannot rape because they cannot preform sex on someone.

I would just like to say, that if you read the comments on the Jezebel article, even most of the feminists there are disappointing in the article/Jezebel and calling it an embarrassment. And not in a "This was a bad example of our point way," in a "Jezebel, it's really obnoxious you would assume Lena Dunham couldn't look good without serious Photoshop." A feminist podcast called, "Stuff Mom Never Told You," also posted on Facebook criticizing the article. It's a small victory, but at least it's …

Misogyny is a hatred of women. Sexist jokes can come from a hatred of women, but jokes can also just be funny. I think you'd be hard pressed to argue that the statement, "Bitches be crazy," 1. Comes from a place of hatred for women (it's actually just a funny thing to say, because it's such a ridiculous sentiment) and 2. That the statement is generalizing all women as bitches or crazy (more accurately, it means, 'Woman, like men, have the potential to be bad and unstable people and I don't know …

I don't think this post is necessarily condoning violence. It's just a post of someone else's weird/fucked up "art," which can be interesting sometimes. Trying to censor this of all posts on Tumblr doesn't really make sense.

I agree the article in no way endangers the rights of men. I just felt that the title, "Riding Bike = Feminism," was pretty funny.

I'm glad that men's pants fit you equally well as women's. I'm not satisfied with the way men's pants fit me.

We make clothing. It's not inherently anything. It is not sex neutral. Shirts for women leave room for boobs. Men's pants leave room for the crotch. So both genders can't carry a small bag because of bombs and soda, but small bags are allowed? If you read my original post, I say "If women are still allowed small (define small?) Cross bodies or traditional purses(never seen one of these I couldn't fit food into) I don't see the problem." Though really, anyone should be able to carry the small bag…

But, why should I have to cross dress to watch football? I wish pants made to fit women had bigger pockets too, but it's not something I'm going to be able to change. What I want is a good reason why people of both genders cannot just carry a small bag. I mean, really, if men's pockets are so roomy then they could easily smuggle in the same contents as a small bag so it doesn't seem very different.

I wouldn't even say we need to carry make up. Keys, wallet, phone, (possibly) tampons. Maybe some sunglasses, which can generally hang on your head or shirt. Why do you ask? What I'm trying to make clear is that it is reasonable for women to want to carry purses because almost all women's clothing does not have functional pockets - ie. there isn't proper room for keys, wallet, phone on one's person. Don't get me wrong. I buy clothes with as much pocket space as I can (my mother often teases me t…

I agree with you that a women wearing men's clothing would receive very little social criticism. However, that doesn't mean the women wearing men's clothing would not feel uncomfortable. The say way you might not feel comfortable in a skirt. Also, I have gone to the men's section trying to do just that. Funny thing is, men and women have different body types. Moreover, maybe a setting like a football game would be okay, but I could hardly show up in ill-fitting trousers to an office and still be…

I carry a men's wallet too. When I'm around the house or out and wearing a jacket (that covers my bum), I have no problem sticking these things in my back pocket. However, I live in a rather populous city. If I'm walking around down town, at a museum, shopping, or at a concert - anywhere there's a decent sized crowd - I don't feel comfortable putting my phone/wallet in my back pockets. Why? I've been pick-pocketed before and it really sucks. It's easy to take something out of my back pocket beca…

I don't think the problem has to do with bulk. My phone doesn't fit in my pocket because it's not deep enough. The phone itself is less than half an inch deep. But if saying that pockets are considered nonaesthetic in women's fashion, what are we accomplishing? Women still don't have pockets and want to carry a bag and everyone should be able to.

Okay, 1 Cargo pants are never okay, for men or women unless you're going fishing 2 Clothing manufacturers often put fake pockets on women's clothing. When the pockets are not fake, they're very small. Pockets don't seem to be non aesthetic. They can get away without functional pockets because women carry purses and they want to because it's a way to cut corners with cost. Also, kilts, seriously? No. Or wear men's clothing? You can't say that women have to change (in essence, keeping appropriate …

Okay, here's the thing: not allowing purses was not meant to be sexist and anyone who thinks they're being discriminated against is dumb. The reason bags aren't allowed probably has much more to do with bringing in food than guns or something. At the same time, women are not being unreasonable by saying they want to carry a bag. Maybe the woman in this article was being kind of over dramatic, but what I think a lot of men don't understand is that to a woman, a purse is your pocket. My boyfriend …

OP has a serious case of special snowflake syndrome. "I'm not like other girls. I'm marine so I know men are gentlemen. And I can't get along with other women because they're all so catty." (Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit). But really, 110% percent of the things posted to or said on this sub are not supportable. Maybe more like 60-75%. I mean really, the whole hive mind mentality is why feminism became so fucked. She's not supporting men's rights, she's praising rigid gender roles.

This, so much this. Feminists and society have beat into women and girls' minds that they are in constant danger of being raped. It's a CONSTANT VIGILANCE situation, seriously. I remember once when I was 13 that a single mother who I frequently babysat for asked me to help her male friend watch the children while she ran errands for a few hours (she had me help because he had no experience with children, not because he was male). When she asked he to babysit, I didn't understand what the situati…

While this instance with Primark is clearly discriminatory, be careful assuming that every time you're told you cannot enter a changing room it's because you're male. I[F] am frequently told I cannot go into changing rooms with my female friends at places like Forever 21 and Zara and I was told I couldn't go into the changing rooms with my boyfriend at Marshall's the other day. I think a lot of the time companies are more concerned about people trying to steal things or couples having sex than m…
