Nope, but I was allowed to stay out all day until Dad yelled through the neighborhood that it was time for dinner. I'd get up around 6am and be home 6 or 7ish that night. Sometimes we'd be at someone's house but the rest of the time we'd be roaming the neighborhood. No one was keeping tabs on us. We just did whatever.

My dad, in his pre-teen/teenage years would take his .22 rifle, and wander up into the hills behind their home(off their property) in the morning, and come back for dinner in the evening.

We also don't know the volumes we're talking about. They sell 18 percent more, but what are the criteria? Is it straight tickets per night? Are we talking the same theater or different ones?(they aren't going to have the same number of seats). It's there a base line number of tickets to compare against? I just don't feel confident that the study was controlled very well. If they really sold more tickets for more profit, they should have kept running. No self respecting business person is going t…

If girls with mild forms of untreated ADHD function better than the treated mild male cases then this could be adversely affecting boys. They don't. Their grades won't be better. They just won't get yelled at by the teacher for running around the classroom too. Also most people with ADHD usually has some aspects of both.

Ritalin and Adderall are some of the best studied medicines in psychology. The side effects aren't very severe for most of the population. Although a definite causal relationship has not been established, the following have been reported in patients taking this drug: instances of abnormal liver function, ranging from transaminase elevation to hepatic coma; isolated cases of cerebral arteritis and/or occlusion; leukopenia and/or anemia; transient depressed mood; aggressive behavior; a few instanc…

Who said anything about working out? We were talking about food.

I know what you're trying to say but what you're suggesting is that thermodynamics don't apply to people, and they definitely do. At it's most basic level every system follows that same formula. In the case of people it means energy goes in in the form of food and it goes "out" in the form of expenditure and storage. No matter how you slice it the formula plays.

But that's the key. The Man Show is for a certain subset of guys who appreciate those things. It in no way represents all men. This show also represents a certain subset of women who obviously watch sports with their husbands while having their own thoughts and perceptions about what's going on. Not identical but similar. One is considered fine and the other is treated as negative.

I guess I should have worded the title differently. I should have made it clear that I mean from the media's perspective The Man Show is what is expected from "men", whereas this is denegrating to women because "some women really are sports fans".

I'm not saying anything about the quality of either. I just don't understand why there should uproar over this, but a show that's basic premise is real men watch sports and drink beer and ogle women is just... expected?

And in reality once you have the confidence you can start using those moments in your favor.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
