This is a really interesting question. Men used to wear/use a lot of things that are considered feminine now. Makeup was a sign of wealth, heeled shoes helped keep their feet in stirrups while horseriding, and they even used to wear hosiery. I think it would be interesting to investigate when and why men stopped participating in these things and they became feminine concepts vs what their original purpose was. But the answer to your question is the cultural perception that marketing likes to per…

Ohh I see. You're not trying to have a nuanced and meaningful conversation, you're just trying to bash women in an echo chamber where everyone will validate your point of view. Gotcha. I'll see myself out.

Women actually do understand that a large amount of men have no interest in dating a woman with children. The dating pool for both men and women is a cesspool of judgemental assholes who make generalizations about single parents and what it must say about you if you are a single parent. But you're generalizing a bit here, because there very much is a large population of men who are more attracted to women with children.

I can't exactly offer my experiences as a man can I? And according to this guy, it's okay for other people to have different experiences. A little weird to be offended by someone discussing their experiences as it relates toca topic just because it goes against your victim hood mentality. Just saying. Have a good day bud

Interesting that you're so upset about me sharing my differing experiences while simulamtaneously preaching that it's okay for others to have different experiences. Thanks for the diagnosis, glad that google degree is getting you somewhere in life.

It's not gendered but it does lean pretty heavy in one direction. Obviously doesn't make it okay for women to discount your made up (maybe? Post didnt really make it clear if the situations were made up or if post was satirical based off real situations) experiences but then just like... don't have sex with those women? I mean, double standards exist for both genders, baiting people with satirical posts on reddit isnt really the way to drive any sympathy in your favor.

It's pretty common for people to comment on a post as it relates to their own experiences. I'm willing to bet if what I had to say didn't go against your "all men good, all women bad" mindset, you wouldn't care. Sorry your feelings got hurt. Bandaids are on aisle 6. 😘

Men using my body for their own pleasure and getting off in 2 seconds, not putting in the effort to make sure I get off too, and then thinking Im going to fuck them again is.... why I just use a vibrator.

Maybe they just didn't think their sons would be whiny little bitches that would cry sexism over the naming of a company. At least you stand by your beliefs, but when a sub full of people who share your general beliefs are telling you that you're reaching, that's something to consider.

I mean, there are many reasons the company might be named after a daughter and not a son. For example, maybe the business owner didn't have a son at the time the business started. Maybe the daughter's name sounded better as a brand. Maybe the daughter was helping out with the business and the son wasn't interested. Maybe the business related to something special the business owner shared with their daughter. There's also the fact that women own businesses, too, so taking this information and tur…

Why is your self-worth based in any part on the number of men a woman slept with before you? That sounds like something you need to work out in therapy. And if women have been rejecting you for your whole life, then I doubt other men have much to do with it, especially if women are as inherently promiscuous as you seem to think they are.The common denominator is you, so maybe that's something to work out, too.

A man who isn't accepting of homosexual men is probably afraid that gay men are going to treat him the way he treats women (ie relentless pursuing, unwanted touching). In my experience, men who have more respect for women also tend to not really care if another man is gay or not.

Most women do not experience menstrual cramping or any other symptom of PMS severe enough to interfere with their daily activities even without birth control, which is why this is so absurd to begin with. Some women absolutely are taken out by their cycle every month, but those conditions are covered by existing legislation. But if your argument is that birth control should make it all better, then you're wrong. Some women go through several methods before finding what's right for them, and some…

Just playing devil's advocate because I think this is bullshit, and I do agree with everything else you said. But women on birth control still go through a monthly cycle. Even if they don't have a period, their body will still go through hormonal changes throughout the month. Some women may still have PMS symptoms, just to a lesser degree. But that doesn't mean they need extra days off.

I dont want to down play anyone's experiences, because it's obviously different for every woman. But I dragged my heavily pregnant ass to work chasing special needs kids around school during the hottest months of the year (July baby), with feet so swollen that my Jack Skellington socks left imprints of his face all over my feet, while also in the early stages of osteitis pubis. No, I'm not better than anybody else, plenty of women have gone through worse than that. I'm just saying that women are…

Then idea that men HAVE TO continue their bloodline is outdated. Neither men nor women are obligated to do so. There are a lot of people who don't want to have children for various reasons. You'd only be wasting a woman's time if you weren't up front about what you want from the beginning.

I saw a poster or infographic or something of that nature talking about how women are disadvantaged. One of the facts was "1:4 homeless people is a woman." Just sit with that for a minute.

Apparently, there was a period of time where girls performed worse than boys in schools because the school system was not really meant for women. It appears that in trying to bridge that gap, boys got left behind. How exactly does an entire nation let that happen?

Women being killed by men and their deaths being mocked does not make it okay to laugh at, joke about or celebrate a man dying at the hands of a woman. Normal human beings would just agree that both are horrible and neither should be celebrated or justified, but ya know, the world we live in and all...

Reading comprehension is important, my friend. I wont explain myself again, or sit here and argue with a stranger about what I said. I'll just invite you to reread my last response to you if you'd like further explanation of what I said. Have a good day, bud.

Ackchyually. That's not really the main reason female circumcision is performed, though, is it? I'm not sure why everyone is so butthurt over my comment, I never said that I agree with the emphasis of one over the other, I literally just gave my thoughts on why the emphasis exists.

Where did I say that? I read and reread what I wrote, and I can't seem to find where I said that I'm not ABLE to comment on the morality of circumcision. Nor did I say that I agree that female circumcision SHOULD receive more emphasis, since I have a feeling that will be your next "gotcha." I believe what I said was that my words weren't meant to be a commentary on morality, rather I was just giving my thoughts on possible reasons people tend to put more effort into ending female circumcision th…

I'm not saying either is right or wrong, but I do think context matters. I personally think people are more concerned with female circumcision because cultures who practice it use it as a way to control women sexually, to keep them pure, and can involve sewing them closed which honestly makes me hurt to think about. Sex, (which will probably be forced on them, anyway) will be incredibly painful, and there will be lifelong sexual and reproductive complications most of the time. Parents who choose…

It's really atrocious that this happened to you. You were in pain for hours after... that should not be anyone's experience, especially a child. And the fact that your parents, who are supposed to protect you, failed to even speak up for you is heart breaking. The best we can do is break the cycle - hold professionals accountable for the physical and emotional trauma they cause, and be there for our own children in ways that our parents failed to be there for us. Not to be corny, but sharing thi…

I had this thought, too. Surely there are double standards when it comes to beauty that go both ways, but I've only ever seen people made fun of for having cosmetic procedures regardless of gender. Id be curious to know of any specific examples OP has in mind.

There's no need to make them mandatory. If a man has doubts, he has the option to do it at any time, in the U.S. at least. As long as his name's on the birth certificate, the mother doesn't have the right to refuse to provide the child's DNA. But if he doesn't have doubts, or just doesn't care, then it's his right not to. I also don't think this will have the effect you want it to have. Sure, it will prove a good number of men are raising kids that don't belong to them, but I think even more men…

I get it, legally it's a slippery slope because that power differential does exist. If they can prove that they felt like they couldn't refuse in the moment that's where the problem lays. Which is part of a bigger more nuanced conversation. Like I said, I don't know the details, but that doesn't really sound like what happened here. It doesn't appear that he used his influence and believed he had their genuine consent. If they thought he was joking, they could have easily changed their minds in …

I could be wrong, but I don't think the power dynamic he's talking about is male vs female. I think he's referencing his fame and wealth, which does create a power differential. The person who is perceived to have less power can struggle to self-advocate in these types of situations, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Louis did anything wrong. Since none of us were in the room (and I personally don't know enough about the situation anyway), we can't really say for sure whether or not he dese…

I think there are men who care about and advocate for women's issues and women who care about and advocate for men's issues. I think the problem is not enough people want to acknowledge or accept that neither side is perfect and we are all flawed.

Dunno what the best solution is but I'm positive that recording someone in any way without their consent during a sexual act is the best way to have some kind charge brought against you. Recording just sound wouldn't help you anyway as you have no way to prove who's on the tape unless for some reason you both state your full names.

Some places do have rape by fraud or deception laws, but from what I understand, it applies to making the victim believe you are someone you are not. Like, hey I'm you're blind date (when you're not) or entering a dark room and pretending to be their SO. It's interesting how the masses always try to alter or expand the meaning of words when trying to cancel someone. Humans are sexual beings, everyone enters into a relationship with the understanding that you may not be the only one they're sleep…

“The vagina’s primary function isn’t to be penetrated by a penis but to eject a baby for birth.” I want to believe this is a joke, but a simple Google image search of this woman actually explains a whole lot.
