It's a more active kind of clarity but yes it does. Sometimes I wake up with a lot of energy and meditation doesn't work. In that case I do some yoga. Yoga after lifting days is also key for me as it helps with getting those sore and tight muscles nice and limber for the next session.

I don't drink during the week. I refuse invitations to drink during the week. On the weekend I may go out every now and then. Last year I stopped drinking for several months on end. I just finished a project for a public sector client and as the project manager I took out the lead analyst for a quick lunch during work. She's a young woman (STEM graduate, Indian). It was painful. Get the sleep cycle app, it's on iOS and Android. I use it everyday including weekends. Not going to go into a long breakdown of the app but it's essentially a sleep tracker and alarm. Instead of waking you up at a specific time it wakes you up at the end of a sleep cycle, ensuring that you don't get bulldozed in a the middle of cycle leading to grogginess etc etc. Try it out.
