Don't kiss with cold sores, just poor form. I get them too, just a fact of life. A week or two out of your life once or twice a year I find.

Sounds like some oneitis. Wouldn't invest too much into it. You're not going to get the advice you want to hear here, probably more likely to find it in /r/relationships.

I've known a lot of women who put as much if not more weight into how good the foreplay is as opposed to the sex so I wouldn't say that your "endowment" is the be all and end all. Also, remember it's not size, it's how you use it.

Oh yes, I agree whole heartedly. It pays to know your town/city. I just think it's important that the bloke takes the lead.

I enjoyed this. I'm looking forward to your analysis of these other personality/behaviour descriptors.

If you're looking for traditional therapy, Russ Harris is a world leading psychologist in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and his book "the confidence gap" was helpful to me. http://www.amazon.com/Confidence-Gap-Guide-Overcoming-Self-Doubt/dp/1590309235 I also tend to think that travel really does broaden the mind and make you a more interesting person. While I've never done a bootcamp, I tend to think that with the cost of them, you'd be better to take a holiday to Vietnam or Thailand …

As a person with tattoos, and I've also heard this from a few people with them as well, just be careful to not consider it an invitation to go kino straight of the bat and touch someone's arm, wrist, shoulder etc. You'd be surprised the people that do.

good work mate, you're too right. However, I hope you got her number as well, as opposed to her just getting yours... Either way, you are a shining example of "just fucking say SOMETHING!"

The 'cube game', cold reading and other little bits of chick crack e.g. personality tests such as those suggested in a recent popular post.

I tried posting an explanation in the "fun personality test to give to girls" thread, but thought I would post this here for higher visibility for those interested.

This is pretty much the same as 'the cube' routine. And I'm going to go out there and say that as someone undertaking a masters in psychology at present, this is not a "personality test". Your favourite animal does not represent how you want to be viewed. A psych professor would not give this in a class unless he was trying to demonstrate how much pseudo-science bullshit there is out there. EDIT: Actually, a lot of these pseudo-bullshit 'personality tests' invoke the Barnum or Forer Effect, wher…

I like this. Lines like these are corny, but by this stage good comfort and rapport has been built so one can only really read something like that and have a little giggle and play along.

Some minor initial text chit chat. Make a date. Something fun and exciting, like ice skating or rock climbing. Confirm the date/time. Then you have to go to bed/work whatever, bye. Don't text again until the day of or day before date where you reconfirm time, whether you meet/pick her up etc. Go on date. Show her you are an awesome person, entertain her. K-close.

It sounds like you are investing a lot into each of these interactions/relationships. Just go with the flow man. MMA girl, carry on as usual. Metal girl, even if she is interested in you, the hassle and potential heartache that goes with hooking up with a girl with a boyfriend is often not worth it. Just think of her as a platonic friend, you never know, she could introduce you to some single friends somewhere down the line. Quiet girl, forget about her. You gotta have standards, constant flakin…

Stop trying to be in her or anyone's head in terms of "what is she thinking", just go talk to her, be a man of action. And stop carrying on with this junior high bullshit of "she might be talking to someone else" or "putting in a good word for me". You're a man, be a man.

No one knows, don't concern yourself with getting inside people's heads, it's frivolous.

Don't be afraid to take the initiative when setting up plans, you gotta do what you gotta do, especially when you're in a new town. I'd just forget about worrying that you sound "date-y". People can have platonic friendships with the opposite sex, as long as you aren't being "game-y" in setting a sexual frame and keep it friendly then I can't see any problem is that's your intention.

The important thing with remembering something is not focusing just "how do I retrieve this memory", but ensuring that you focus on encoding the memory properly in the first place. When she tells you her name, don't just passively listen to it, focus on it, make it salient in your mind, use her name in conversation with her. Most of the time when people say "I don't remember names" it's because they never learnt/encoded the name to memory in the first place.

"to improve my game when I get better" - you could always keep at it now while you're healing. Surely it's not that bad, it's not permanent, and you can always make light of it: "You shoulda seen the other guy!" "I had one of those days, you know, where you wake up, get ready for your day in front of the mirror, and just nothing seems to work for you?" Then you can of course go off into the story as to how it happened (assuming it's appropriate). Can always read up/concentrate on inner game.

If you want something that's a fun day-date and away from the typical things like "getting coffee", "going to the movies" or "going to the mall", try something like going bowling, indoor rock climbing, ice/roller skating, going to a museum, bushwalking/hiking etc etc. You also demonstrate that you're a fun guy, like to try new things and she will definitely be thinking "wow, what an awesome guy, I've never had a guy take me _____ on a date before!"

You're right, I'm certain that's what he means, I just think that's a foolish concept of success, or rather that it's foolish to consider success based on other people's perceptions/impositions. Not everyone wants to be Mystery or Neil Strauss, a lot of people are in this for different reasons - some simply want to GET a girlfriend, not sleep with a ton of 9 or 10s. For others, their goals might be simply to boost their confidence and become more socially competent as opposed to being a champion…

Why be dependent on one opener? Build your repertoire. No single opener is versatile in every situation (bar, mall, beach, street etc). The way I see it is an opener is a tool to get you into the initial conversation. I think, for me at least, the goal is to one day not need the opener and just be able to approach and open off the cuff.

At the end of the night she kinda bumped into me a bunch like she wanted to walk arm in arm but it would’ve been awkward to walk like that or hold hands when it’s so cold out. Didn’t end with a kiss (dunno if she would’ve even let me), but she just got over being sick so it’s all good. Gotta learn to take the risk, son.

Hey mate. First up, great podcast and thanks for doing the AMA. My question: Obviously, you've come a long way in the world of PU artistry. In terms of openers, as a beginner, I've favoured the formulaic pattern of establishing a time constraint, throwing in some spontaneous and enthusiastic question that's rooted in some other activity (i.e. conversation with a friend I'm having) in order to spark up an initial conversation. In all your experience now, do you still find yourself following these…

That's awesome man. Likewise, I also get a bit worn out at a lot of the life-coach wishful thinking BS that penetrates this community. Also, while I incorporate a lot of positive psychology into my life, and recognise it's empirical basis, some of the books available (aimed at Joe Public) do err towards sounding like floury life-coach BS but with a sense of validation because it is backed up by empiricism. One of the things I love about ACT is that it pretty much teaches you that it's okay and e…

Haha, it might help though! Tbh, I don't think charisma is something that you can specifically aim to develop, I think it develops as a result of building your confidence (through experience), displaying "positive energy" (by perfecting your inner game and outer persona), and building your social skills (i.e. being a good story teller, conversationalist, being funny, being empathic etc.). I think that charisma is an over arching quality that flows from developing those skills and attributes.

IMPOSSIBLE! Where do you live? could be a cultural thing? are you intimidating? Do you have a lazy eye? I think the key is not to stare but rather kind of meaningful glances of 2-3 seconds at the eyes. While you might not always get eye contact with strangers you pass on the street, surely when you're making an approach you're getting eye contact, that's where you want it.

Damn right you should be proud of the progress you've made. Congratulations dude. To be honest, I don't see the issue as being a matter of overcoming your stuttering, I see the issue as a matter of overcoming your insecurities that arise as a result of your stuttering, those maladaptive attitudes and niggling thoughts like "who'd wanna date me?", "she must think I'm an idiot", or whatever they may be. You gotta start overcoming that and start erecting that tower of confidence that you've got in …

Well you need to start building up your confidence, and the only way to do that is through experience, just like the weight loss example you've given, there's no magic bullet. Rather than being the fat guy that stays home because he is worried what people might think of him at the gym, be the fat guy that says "fuck that I gotta do this, and now, sooner rather than later". Even if he can hardly keep a jog on the treadmill for 5 mins, he's doing his best, and soon enough he's jogging and the kg's…

What have you got to be ashamed about? Are you worried what your family would think if you brought a girl home?
/r/seduction15/01/13 11:54 AM

There is no way for me to date a girl without feeling ashamed about it. None. I've never been able to bring a girl "home" nor have I ever dated anywhere near my circle of friends. How old are you?

Also, if you're going for kino on a dinner date you might have difficulty considering you're most likely sitting opposite her. When you inevitably go for drinks, be strategic on where you sit (try for a lounge or something) so that you are side by side as opposed to opposite and this will make escalation more possible.
/r/seduction14/01/13 11:36 PM

The way I see it, you're fighting an uphill battle, the odds are against you from the start. This is just my personal viewpoint, but it's a major obstacle and sometimes attempting to overcome something like that is just frivolous and I would rather go for a girl that is relatively unattached so that I have a better chance. Also, I tend to think that in these situations you're in a position to be manipulated by her - e.g. she friendzones you and uses you as an emotional confidant while she's stil…

1) I am having a serious hard time talkimg to girls who do not have many hobbies nor do they go out on the weekend. I lose the convos suprisingly fast. Advice on what to talk about to these girls? Quickly identify their interests and then let them talk about/explain them to you, from there, conversational threading from one topic to another. Just because they don't go out on weekends doesn't mean they don't have interests e.g. hobbies, volunteer work, what they're reading atm, etc.

No offense OP, but this was a very average post. You managed to make this post devastatingly long-winded yet skimped on a lot of important details e.g. what environment were you approaching these girls i.e. night club, coffee shop, book store etc... what your schtick/openers were, details of conversations and any further techniques used other than "being funny". FRs are supposed to be informative, or provide the opportunity to get feedback/revision/dialogue with fellow sedditors, not merely an o…

It's difficult to say whether or not this has helped your situation with girl #1. I assume by what you write that there's to some extent some mutual attraction but that you've struggled to get beyond that due to escalation anxiety. There's no way of knowing if she was hurt/offended or whatever by you hooking up with another girl in front of her, so accept that and put that aside. I'd be reluctant to say though that it's helped your chances (life isn't how I met your mother). What's important her…
