One instance is if there is a gentleman with a firearm in open carry. We are to tell him to return the firearm before we could dp the transaction as our institution prohibits firearms .

Sorry on mobile so formatting may be different. 1) Not necessarily the fed will accept most soiled cash with the only exception being if the bill is torn in half and it is missing the entirety of the second serial number. As long as even a single number or letter for the second serial number is readable the fed will accept it. Coin on the other hand the Fed tries really hard to keep it circulating though the market. Dependant on the bill itself. We can turn away any kind of currency for any reason. Typically though we would ask them to clean it however we do accept money is dirty and would accept it with ham juice. The manager would not know about it, things at that level typically stay at the teller-client level. The only time that the supervisor would know of it is if we declined and they wanted a second opinion on the bill. Also 20 dollars with a Jackson is a bit redundant.

I work at a bank and typically we will take some ratty bills but any kind of coin that is disgusting or mutilated we will not accept because the Fed will not accept it.

Sanitation workers make bank its a good job for those who have limited education and can support a family. I have nothing but respect for these guys, I'm not sure how I would feel smelling like garbage tho.
