7	The City Makes You Soft This is true, being an immigrant who grew up in nyc, you have to be alert to your surroundings at all times. After I moved down to virginia, I felt myself become more relaxed because the pace of life in the south is so much slower. Going back to the city to visit actually results in an increased heart rate and blood pressure for me now, its insane.
